This 8-minute fan film is very impressive, both technically and in its ability to evoke nostalgia and emotion in a way that modern Trek is incapable of.
Yeah, I learned about that after I posted it (and before it was given its own thread). It definitely makes it more special than I originally assumed. I even wondered if Shatner and the Nimoy family would object, so it's nice hearing that they were involved.Not really a fan film as it was sanctioned by star trek, the Nimoy family and Shatner had been talking about it for 2 years
The differences are mainly in the space shots, which were re-done in CGI. I hate that they did that, but at least there are only a few such shots per episode and last only a few seconds each.Just got a free Paramount subscription in the last few months, been wanting to start the original series but I only see the remastered version on Paramount. I would have rather seen how the shows actually aired but don't see the unmastered version on there.
