Also I didn't catch them opening for Seal's tour last year but Horn did take The Buggles on tour finally after over 40 years -

(Horn produced Seal's first two albums among others.)

Funny how the production group - the producer, sound engineers, etc... from 90125 decided to keep doing things and that resulted in this -

(Yes, yes, Horn was momentarily part of Yes but I won't hold that against him. )

I love Horn's voice on both Yes - Drama and Yes - Fly From Here - Return Trip as well as the Buggles.

After Yes I like his production on Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

Horns production team was the origin of The Art of Noise as well.

YT Music just gave my year end retrospective even though there are six weeks left in the year for me to binge a bunch of random stuff.

Well I’ve completed an HFSabres 2024 Christmas music playlist on Spotify. I’ll be posting the songs from YouTube (one daily) starting Saturday (so the final one will be posted on Christmas Eve day). If anybody wants a link to the playlist before then, just shoot me a DM and I’ll hook you up. I just ask that you don’t share it or discuss the songs prior to posting.

And like last year, I’ll tell you a bit about the artist and when the song was released, when I post the daily track.

Day 1/25 of HFSabres 2024 Christmas song playlist reveal is the song Merry Axe-Mas from the Boston band Ice Nine Kills. The band started out as a ska punk band in 2000 before becoming a metalcore band in 2006. In 2016 they became a horrorcore band, releasing their next two albums based on horror movies. This song was inspired by the horror films Silent Night Deadly Night and Black Christmas. This song was released on their album The Silver Scream in 2018. This song is slightly NSFW.

One of the Beatles best songs, which a lot of people haven't heard because it was released as a B side. Ringo Starr's best drumming.

I also liked his drumming on A Day In The Life and Magical Mystery Tour. He wasnt Neil Peart, Ginger Baker or John Bonhan but still an underrated drummer.

Day 2/25 of HFSabres 2024 Christmas music playlist is the song This Time of Year by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. This song was recorded in 2001 and released on a promo cd at a concert held before Christmas by the band and with the compilation “A Santa Cause” in select stores. It was finally available for full release on their 2007 rarities and b-sides album.

Day 3/25 of HFSabres 2024 Christmas music playlist is Must Be Christmas by Band of Merrymakers. They were started by songwriter and producer Sam Hollander and songwriter, musician, and producer Kevin Griffin (Better Than Ezra) in 2014. The supergroup features members of Lady A, 311, 3OH3!, Sugar Ray, The Mowgli’s, Smallpools, Neon Trees, Fitz & the Tantrums, and Lifehouse, and solo artists Bebe Rexha, Owl City, Natasha Bedingfield, Andrew McMahon, and Christina Perri. This song was released in 2015 on their debut (and only) release Welcome to Our Christmas Party.

Day 4/25 of HFSabres 2024 Christmas music playlist is This Christmas Night by Kaskade and Dia Frampton. Kaskade is a DJ from Chicago and is one of the biggest EDM artists. He has been a DJ for 30 years, and releasing his own music since 2000. Dia Frampton is a singer from Utah singing in the group Meg&Dia and as a solo artist. She has been releasing music for 20 years. This song was released on the album Christmas in 2017.

Very well done, never realized the Toto guys were all over that era as session players.

Me neither. Made me respect Toto a lot more.

I know some of their session work like on Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” but the one that always sticks out for me is they did the score for Lynch’s “Dune” other than one track. Such bizarre chameleons.

They’re just wizards. Started playing professionally at 15.
