Speculation: The 2026-27 Roster Speculation Thread: Summer Edition - Throw in All The Oars, We're Trading for Battleships

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
With the report that Dallas offered $12M AAV and Robertson asked for $14M, I think it is more than likely about the money.
Seattle offered $15 and he said no. That tells me he wants to get paid AND he wants to win.

also Seattle has a huge Filipino population. He would be more of an idol there than he is in Dallas and Dallas also has a big Filipino population. I doubt it was as much about the location as it was the team sucks and there is no direction.

I'd love to see the following trade with NYR:
To NYR: 4th and 20th OV, one of either Krebs or McLeod + D prospect for Trocheck and Schneider. Throw in Levi and/or 2nd rounder as a sweetener if needed. Try to avoid including Mrkta but Schneider is only 24, a stay-at-home RD. Would be a perfect partner for Power IMO. Also, they'd both be more comfortable arriving her as Carrick is already on the team.

That would be awful! Jarmo could never get that drunk!

Lindy has already said he expects Kulich on the top line with Benson and Tage to start the season.

Norris took on more of a facilitator role last season, I think partly because he was injured and couldn't shoot as well. But because of that, he elevated the offense of everyone he played with. If Norris can stay healthy I could see them having him on a line with Ostlund and Helenius and he would be really good for their development. And with the way Lindy rolls his lines, lines and their designation 1-4 dont necessarily mean what they mean to other teams.
or Norris with Ostlund and Doan. Helenius seemed to find some chemistry with Quinn and Zucker during the playoffs.

Stamkos had the same surgery for a blood clot and was back in 2 months playing in the playoffs. Kulich didn't get shot he had a blood clot. He will by ready and in Buffalo by the start of the season. Thinking he needs 6 months + to recover is being overly cautious / not realistic.

Lindy had also said during the season that he "wouldn't Rule out Kulich being back for the playoffs." He doesn't say that if he thinks Kulich won't be ready for NEXT season.
Too bad Kulich didn't have the surgery earlier. Was it a personal decision or medically unsound to do it earlier?

UFA rights to players have the value of a 4th or 5th round pick, generally.

You aren't getting Spence for Tuch's rights.

Even the Marner for Roy deal wasn't on the level of Tuch extended for Spence. Vegas was trying to dump Roy and Ottawa is not dumping Spence.
Toronto threatening to bring tampering charges against Vegas might've had something to do with it too.
