Truthfully I don't want draft picks anymore, I want Byram to return NHL ready players preferably in the age group of 20-23
If we got to #7 OA, and could draft Viggo Bjorck, he is ready now. and would immediately jump into the lineup.

And could possibly be the 1c of the future. Think a Swedish Brayden Point.

I would rather take a swing at a rookie, than try to mortgage every pick and prospect we have to try and trade for a Center.

Bjorck at 7OA would be very interesting. It hasn't happened in an age, so I don't think it will happen but hey... fun.
So far every mock i've seen was pretty much:
1. Toronto - Mckenna
2. San Jose - Stenberg or Reid
3. Vancouver - Malhotra
4. Chicago - Reid or Stenberg
5. New York - Carels
6. Calgary - Verhoeff / Smits / Rudoolph

IMO the only one you have to worry about taking Bjorck before 7 is Calgary, I think everyone else is pretty set.

And I think we could get #7OA from Seattle without including Byram.

Our defensive depth isn't looking good anymore. Going to need a top 4 replacement if Byram is traded. I'm back to being interested in a swap for a PKing and defense first top 4 defenseman like Mikey Anderson, Marcus Pettersson or Zach Whitecloud to compliment Dahlin/Power.

The problem with this is we will never get a 1D return.

a 1D is worth a 1st line player. I don't see Byram returning that but maybe I am wrong.

I want a 1C. Even if its a young 1C that hasn't proven himself yet. I am not interested in picks and prospects. This team needs immediate returns for its players.
Why would we want a young 1C that hasn't proven himself when we already have 2 young 1C who haven't proven themselves yet. (Kulich and Hele)
It makes absolutely no sense to add more of what we have in abundance. Now you got a vet playmaker 1C, then we're talking.

Because as the adage says you can never have too many centers. Kulich will play wing IMO.

Its a lot easier to move a center to wing than a wing to center. thats why you want centers

I am planting my flag in the wanting to be in the Shane Wright business. I think he’s going to be a change of scenery and unlocked situation. Put him on a team with juice and he’ll find it. He’s too smart and plays the game right (Wright?) for him to not find it in a better situation.

im all on board that wagon. IMO Seattle gets us the best Byram return.
I think Byram, Norris, Levi, 20 OA gets us:
Wright, Evans, Kokko, & 7OA
that would clear enough cap space to give Tuch 11 per so it's almost like adding Tuch to the return as well.

then we draft Bjorck, and slot Kokko into the goalie rotation and see if he can become our 1G

Run with how much he hates Montreal, stoke that fire.

Don't see why Seattle would want Norris at all. They'd likely view Norris as a guy we're dumping onto them. They've got Beniers/Stephenson/Gaudreau/Meyers with Catton and O'Brien waiting in the wings.

I also have absolutely no idea why we'd want Kakko if we're re-signing Tuch.

Byram/Levi/Mrtka/20 for Wright/Evans/7 seems like a hellacious overpay on our end.

Just simplify it: Byram/Levi/20 for Wright and 7. At least the value is far better there. I'm still not sure I do that deal.....but the value is at least close to even.

Craig Rivet had a huge hard-on for Wright. Haven't listened to those guys in a few years, so not sure he' tamped that down a bit.
