Speculation: The 2026-27 Roster Speculation Thread: Summer Edition - Throw in All The Oars, We're Trading for Battleships

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
The Byram trade shocked me. (in a good way).

I was all ready to hang out until Friday to see who Buffalo selected with the 20th overall.

Now this trade AND rumors that another is somewhat imminent?

Guess I wasn't really planning on going to sleep any time soon.

Him and Metsa were great together. At least I thought they were when I watched.

Natural stattrick has them down for roughly 13 minutes and 18 seconds together all season. Which is more than I expected.

They didn’t play as a pair. They rotated in with the top 4.

Kesselring played his most, and best, minutes with Power. Most people who played with Power did that too. Hell…he just turned his most common partner into 4th overall plus.

They were listed as a pair…but they were not deployed as a pair.

Kesselring was pretty much unplayable with anyone else except Samuelsson.

Sens fan here.

Is there a world where Jack Quinn becomes available, and if so - what would the ask be from Ottawa?
I think there might be. One of our local guys that might have a source (he did have the Adams firing first, otherwise he hasn't been too reliable) has said that he's heard that Quinn might be the next one out the door in trade.

Given that we just traded a top 4 Dman..........

Quinn for Spence makes sense from a value perspective........but it might be contingent on what Spence is expecting contractually.

That would be shit.

If Spence turns back into a strictly 3rd pairing guy, yes. But if he's really that legit top 4 guy that he showed at the end of the year......

It'd be a gamble on our parts for sure. I'm not even sure I'm advocating for that deal to occur, just answering the question posed and acknowledging that Duane has heard something.

Honestly, I believe Quinn is worth quite a bit more than Spence. I'd be willing to add for sure.

I think Spence is going to come in somewhere around the 5.000 range on a medium to long-term contract

I really have no interest in Spence.
If you gonna be playing big minutes and are a midget.. you better be quinn hughes

I don’t think they’re going to sign Tuch even with the cleared up cap space btw. I never thought it was about the cap. I think it’s about…we have our number and that’s it. Clearing all that space isn’t going to make Tuch’s ask come down. And they know that. I think they decided a while ago that they weren’t going above whatever their number was for Tuch’s 30s. I also think they’d have been perfectly happy if he met their number…but the term had to bring the AAV down for them to agree.

Looks good only bad cap hit is skinner but after this year its only 3 left st much less then upcoming season .

Any rumors now more specific on Tuch ? Danforth ? Benson contract ? Kulich health ? Malenstyn ? Upl and helly ?

Benson Norris Thompson
Ostlund McLeod Doan
Zucker Helenius Quinn
Krebs Kozak Carrick

Dahlin Samuelsson
Power Crevier
Metsa Timmins

Upl
Lyon
Ellis

Need some work but up front and d and goalie . What can we expect now ? Draft friday . Bjorck seems like a good pick ?

I don’t think anything has changed with Tuch. Sounds closer to sign and trade then sign and keep.

Danforth will go to camp and try to earn a spot. Nothing more than that.

They’re working to sign Benson to a long term deal but until it’s done it’s not done.

Kulich has been skating for a while now and says he’s cleared to resume his career. He’ll just go have a mostly regular offseason I suppose and come to camp.

Really quiet on Malenstyn except him saying his top choice is to stay. Now that Greenway’s cap is cleared I wonder if they get on that. They can give him a nice bump in pay and it would still be cheaper than keeping Greenway.

Hellebuyck rumors won’t go away. I don’t like it but they don’t ask me. If they did they’d have Lane Hutson in their top 4 and not need to replace Byram.
