You should be able to tell at a glance whether or not a QB has contributed to his team’s offense with his running ability — NCAA record keeping obfuscates that

I think it has more to do with the transfer portal enabling the SEC’s depth players to move on if unhappy with their situation.

The amount of high end talent on the bench at schools like alabama was ridiculous and allowed them to both overwhelm teams with their depth and at the same time deny those recruits to other schools
