Tampa, FL.
Ohio St. should beat Texas by at least 10-14. Something clearly clicked for them in their preparation after the hideous effort against Michigan (and Nebraska not long before that). They have been much more willing to utilize the vertical passing attack and let Howard thrive. Nothing I've seen so far makes me think Texas will be much different for them, provided they continue this kind of balanced offensive attack

I can't say that I would ever root for OSU, but it was nice to see arrogant Lanning destroyed on the biggest stage. And his comments about it "Not being our day, like it wasn't their day vs. Michigan" , show some respect for once, just ridiculous to reference that game after what they did to you.

BTW, Lanning who is supposedly a defensive genius has produced these results while at Oregon against top caliber teams

43 to Georgia
36 to Washington
34 to Washington
32 to OSU
37 to PSU
41 to OSU

I guess any time they play a great team it's "not our day"

I think Lanning’s a smart guy but in that first quarter I saw their defense check out of literally every play they called. You’re gonna blow tons of coverages doing that at college level.

What happened in the 1st qtr is that they ran formations they hadn’t seen on film before. Couple that with pre snap motion their defense was confused. And it was that way for the rest of the game. Same thing goes for when Ohio St was on defense too. The used blitz packages coupled with coverages they didn’t use in the 1st matchup. Gabriel looked lost most of the game. Their running game couldn’t get anything going up the field either.

I just rewatched the ASU - Texas game and jesus christ Sark needs to hire an analyst for offence if he wants to keep on calling plays.

Arizona State played INSANELY AGGRESSIVE on our tendencies and guessed right 99% of the time and the 1% they didn't was the 4th and 13.

Also for the love of god, just give up the run. Do screen passes or something, but we cannot run the ball.

Considering flying into the Cotton Bowl, I had my hotel booked for the national title game but I'll try being realistic.

Oregons biggest issue as of right now, is they aren't developing. Their best players year after year are always the portal players they take in. They also have had senior citizen at QB the last few years.

They really are the Gonzaga of CFB
I'm interested to see how they do next year. They lose the IDL they portal'd in. Won't have 6th year starter at QB. The class they recruited is really good, heavy on the 7on7 format but still good.

Like.. they took a transfer CB when they have signed 6 top 100 CBs in the last 2 classes. 3 being top 15 players in the entire country.

They have the kid from UCLA as backup qb don’t they? I think they’ll reload but won’t get over the hump. Like you said before their development seems to be lacking.

The craziest thing about the Texas-ASU game was Sarkisian not going for 2 when he went up 15 with 10 minutes left. You are in a position where if you get 2 yards you basically end the game by making it a 3 possession game, and even if you miss, they need to get 2 TD's and get the 2-pointer on the last TD to force OT.

That (and many other decisions) leave a lot to be desired with the coaching at Texas. They won't be able to make poor in-game decisions like that vs OSU.

Dante Moore, but who knows if he's ever going to be a championship caliber QB. Oregon seems to love getting the older proven guys, I could definitely see Ewers ending up there if he passes on being a Day 2 or 3 NFL pick for a final college payday.

I think the complete inability to stop high-end offenses is a bigger issue for Oregon, not sure if it's the Jimmy's and Joe's or X's and O's, but that defense is a disaster against good teams.

Dante Moore that’s right. Thought they got him last year knowing that’d he be the QB of the future?
