No, that would be incredibly stupid.
I mean... ham ham.

Jeremy White shock value poll, more fun that real, but still an interesting question and some of the comments are priceless
Would you trade Dahlin for Brady Tkachuk ?
Holy shit, Kesselring is the reverse Sekera.
Kesselring could be a quality add. But if he is, it would be because he is much better than merely better than Clifton.Sure, but who? A few pages back, I posted the list of D who are playing in top 4 roles and don't have trade protections. It's mostly a who's who of guys that aren't available. They could do a lot worse than taking a dice roll on Kesselring continuing to play well in a top 4 role, and on Crouse bouncing back IMO.

With Marino and Durzi healthy, Kesserling is Utah's 3rd pair RHD.
And he's played well with Sergachev and Maatta this year and not great with Valimaki.
It would be an interesting roll of the dice to try playing him with Power to see if they click like he did with Sergachev. But, he could be like Clifton where he is a 3rd pairing RHD that is not great in the Sabres top 4.

There is a huge gap between Clifton and what they need out of a partner for Owen Power. Maybe Kesselring is that guy if he can play well with Power like he played with Sergachev.
And as far as options, none of us know who is really available to the Sabres and who is not.
Rasmus Andersson is a great example. Conroy has talked about how he doesn't want to move him publicly. But, is that what he's telling other GMs?
Probably a combo. Is it the minutes or is it the difference in quality of partner that comes with playing up and down the lineup?
We'd be trading a guy who has the ceiling of a 2C (floor of a middle 6 winger) and a prospect for a guy who has the ceiling of a 2nd line winger but a floor of a 3rd line winger and a guy who might be a 2nd pair RHD.Reading back a few weeks in this thread, as an Utah fan, I’m hoping to revisit some of the Utah chatter I saw.
Thoughts on Crouse+Kesselring for Cozens+Komarov?
Wonder if they'd prefer a plug n play Joker to replace Kess, he and Maata seem to work together in this small tourny sample.. They could probably re-sign that 3rd pair affordably.Funny but the part of that I would be more disappointed to see go would be Komarov. Too many games looking in when he was in the Q to make that parting easy.![]()

I enjoyed watching him with Quebec when I was following Nathan Gaucher for the draft. And then again in Drummondville when I was following Lamoureux. If he’s a deal breaker, we can drop him.Funny but the part of that I would be more disappointed to see go would be Komarov. That would be fine. Could give him an audition and see if he’s a fit for a new contract or simply let him walk. I’m also ok with this just being two for one.Wonder if they'd prefer a plug n play Joker to replace Kess, he and Maata seem to work together in this small tourny sample.. I’m also a big Malatesta fan. What a motor!Loved Gaucher in Quebec, hoping he has an uptick in his game in San Diego so he gets to the show. That kid was someone who embraced his game and playing up to his size.
Can we squeeze McBain for Krebs in there tooI enjoyed watching him with Quebec when I was following Nathan Gaucher for the draft. And then again in Drummondville when I was following Lamoureux. If he’s a deal breaker, we can drop him.

Cozens was worse than McLeod at center, that's just a fact to me, also I don't see how Cozens' deal to Utah is going to get us another center. We could also extend the deal somehow and get Hayton from Utah, for example, or find another center somewhere else.Sabres management would need to be certain that Tage and Kulich can be the top 2 centers until Ostlund and/or Helenius are ready for prime time though. Granted Cozens isn't exactly playing like a good center right now.....but this trade would still deplete what center depth we think we might have.

Andersson has a 6 team No Trade list. I think there is as much likelihood that you could get him to waive as you could get EP40 happy about a trade to Buffalo. He's better than Clifton.
You said yourself that Buffalo won't get players with NMC/NTC so almost no one is available to us by that logic.
Andresson also has M-NTC, by the way, and he's also offensive D and you don't want to play him in a pair with Power, and why do we even need another PMD?
Afraid we need to hang onto McBain since we’re dealing Crouse (in this hypothetical) and we need Hayton desperately because the idea here is shore up the center position.Cozens was worse than McLeod at center, that's just a fact to me, also I don't see how Cozens' deal to Utah is going to get us another center. I think it just doesn't make any sense. If you add Andersson, then he's paired with Dahlin, not Power, that's all. Kesselring would be a much better fit for Power's style of play than Andersson.Andersson has a 6 team No Trade list. I think there is as much likelihood that you could get him to waive as you could get EP40 happy about a trade to Buffalo.
And Andersson plays way too much and with tough deployments to be labelled just an offensive-minded D. I think he could be the type of partner for Power that could take a lot of the weight off of Power to do everything with the puck as compared to what Power has to do with a lot of the partners he's had in Buffalo most notably Samuelsson.
Yeap, I would do it 2:1.For me, the fewer pieces in the transaction the better. Wondering if Crouse and Kesselring for Cozens - just the 2:1 offer moves the needle for folks?
In their last game before the break, Sergachev-Marino played over 25 minutes each and Kesserling had the lowest TOI of any Utah D at 15:39.We actually don't know that he's their third defenseman if Durzi and Marino return. He's stepped up in their absence. Trying to portray his TOI average by including two guys with less than 15 games played paints your picture without the context that what he's doing is without those two in the lineup.
Given how Power-Byram hasn't worked, I don't know why you would break up Dahlin-Byram.I think it just doesn't make any sense. If you add Andersson, then he's paired with Dahlin, not Power, that's all. Kesselring would be a much better fit for Power's style of play than Andersson.
And I didn’t break up, if we add Andersson, I don’t even doubt that Byram will then go in the opposite direction.Given how Power-Byram hasn't worked, I don't know why you would break up Dahlin-Byram.
