Yeahhh...Cozens doesn't fit that bill at all. Youre probably looking at Thompson, Tuch, or Peterka.
I think a lot of bosses around the league, especially the old school ones, think Cozens is a sleeping giant being ruined in our soft, weird culture. The fact that he already has a 30 goal season (understanding luck involved) means he can do it again in their minds.

I definitely don't think it would be 1 for 1, but it feels likely that other teams value him more than the board does. And he'd fit very well on the Islanders. I'd add Quinn as an upside piece to a deal like this with something lesser coming back to balance.

That daily Faceoff article mentioned Rossi still potentially being on the outs for Minny and wondered if they could want cozens

Not sure how that would work for the cap this year though

Only way I could see that working is if it is a three team deal with picks/prospect going to Minny, Rossi going to Buffalo and Cozens to that other unknown.

I don't give charts any credence ... All my viewings of him don't line up with those charts nor does my observations of Islander fans critiques on here.

Still no interest.
Dobson eyeball reminds me of Jokiharju eyeball - there is a lot going wrong in his own zone.
Curious if there's a reason you guys would think the two don't align? Usage not being accounted for enough, mistakes that haven't appeared on the score sheet but will, etc? I'm trying to think of other D men with good numbers, bad eye test aside from power, whose numbers reflect some slumping

They can send us Hartman or Foligno as well.. we can send them a Rosen and a pick

Have you seen much of Dobson's play in the past and this season? Every player makes mistakes, the question is how often he does. I think he was very good last season, including on defense. I just haven't seen much of his games and his metrics are good. But of course we're unlikely to get Dobson for Cozens.

It's hard to imagine that we can get Rossi, it's a strange situation, he's very good and competitive, I don't understand why Guerin allegedly doesn't like him. They seem to be the team that has been constantly looking for a good top 6 C for the last few years and then they drafted Rossi and he plays at a high level. I would give a lot to get a center like that, and it's a shame we didn't draft him, it was a disappointment for me.

FYI
THE ATHLETIC: Chris Johnston reports there won't be a roster freeze on the NHL's 32 teams during the upcoming break (Feb. 10-21) for the league's 4 Nations Face-Off tournament. Technically, that means the teams can still make trades.

In regard to Rossi I think there's a couple of things at work. Next year most of the Parise/Suter buyout comes off the books. Lots of talk about Minnesota going big game hunting with all the new money and the need to keep Kaprizov happy. Rossi is a RFA next year and they have to decide what his ceiling is, what Rossi's camp is looking for, and how his signing might impact their ability to sign big ticket free agents.

Yeah, let’s send out 6’3” Cozens for 5’9” Rossi….yeppie, let’s get smaller!!!
What part of Cozens size is it that you covet and see as a big plus in his game as he bumblef***s pucks away to the other team and gets easily rushed past without touching anyone

Sorry…but tallness doesn’t mean shit to me when you’re constantly out worked, out hustled, out muscled and out played by the 5’9 teenager on your own team

Acting like you’d be moving a big player when he doesn’t play big is like saying you’re moving a point producer when you’re moving Dylan Cozens.

Trying to make a coherent thought here - charts can be illustrative of a particular team and the organic nature of the players within it. There are folks in their role on a particular team can have excellent appearing charts but have underlying issues either in an expanded role (more minutes, harder matchups) or without particular teammates. Think about Colin Miller in Vegas as a third pairing player and how he got roughed up in Buffalo. Or Scandella with or without Spurgeon. Dobson has some interesting tools, I wouldn't mind him for their top four.

Joki has some harsh stats in the twins models while being buoyed by playing with Dahlin and Power mostly. In terms of weak links in their sometimes top four, he's the weakest. Even with a redundancy of skills, balancing a pair is very intriguing for me personally even if it isn't the play ending defender this team desperately needs.

Not sure what chaffed me more, the headache I have from being sick, the 2 hour delay for Amtrak getting my daughter to the nearest station, or that Buffalo had Bobby McMann at a Dev Camp in 2017.

Nah, probably more annoyed that I just dug through an old thread to point out that Brandon Hagel was on the ice for both Sabre Dev camps when he was still on their reserve list.
