Hard disagree, there are plenty of reasons why those guys made sense.
Dating back to juniors, I have six straight years (yes six) of Cozens playing a hard, fast, physical game, sticking up for teammates, and generally saying and doing all the right things, both on and off the ice. That time also includes a bunch of international tourney time as well. I had no problem with them giving him an "A".
If his game is f***ed because Granato and now Ruff are trying to develop him into something he's not, or putting him in over his head at center, then move him back to wing and let him figure it out while providing all those good aspects that *checks notes* two thirds of the of the league is looking to add to their team.
Here's the harsh reality - We are not smarter than the rest of the league, so if they all want to acquire him then our own player evaluation of him is f***ed.
As for Samuelsson, he was a captain on the NDTP, he was a captain in college, he was an acknowledged leader in Rochester, and he's always been one of the most respected guys in the room. There's a reason why the lack of response by him was so shocking to everyone that watched this kid come up through the ranks. The signs of him being a leader have been there for years, if this season determines that he isn't part of the leadership group then so be it.
