We'll have next to nothing to sell if Adams re-signs Zucker and Greenway, or so he hopes. He mentioned the Mitts/Byram deal, but I don't expect much, our GM is trash.

He’s already lowered the expectations on even managing to do that for himself.

Because those moves add money. Prospects and picks are cheap as f***.

Adams said he could see a move like Byram/Mitts last year in his future. Of course he can. The only money in money out team at the bottom of league spending.

BECAUSE THERE IS AN INTERNAL CAP. I don’t know who is left that needs to hear it…but they should get their f***ing ears cleaned if they haven’t yet.

I'm just putting out there what a competent, well run organization would do.

I think in the 2022-23 season, the argument was that we were a talented but poorly built team. That was when we all felt Cozens, Peterka, Power and Quinn were ready to take the next steps.

2 years later, only really Peterka has taken the next step and Skinner is gone.

So all we are left is a poorly built team and hoping that the vast pool of draft picks develop.

We are in a talent deficit, especially since the Coach doesn't feel our top two centers are actually centers

Not being willing to spend at this juncture, especially seeing the cap will be skyrocketing almost 25M in 3 years, will put us at a massive disadvantage.

What do we think of Brandt Clarke ? or was his name just dropped to see if they could get in on Pettersson ?

I also wonder if they decide to move TT back to center at some point if Adams might pivot and try to find top 6 winger instead of center ?


Will Greenway play before 4 Nations ? Maybe he gets dealt fairly quickly if he is not interested in extending ?

Kozak is up still too (forced them to waive NAK) and Lindy had very good things to say about him this week.

I think the issue in LA us a system fit. I donr have an issue in acquiring him

No one their will go from UFA to Buffalo and Pegula won't spend money.

I'm not sure on greenway. I hope he does a rehab in rochester during the break if he could.

All for keeping zuck and greener, although Zucker could hit a wall at any point. Wonder what the standings look like if we don't lose dahlin for that stretch and Greenway half the season.

Good news of the season is that the consensus here is that we "gained" a top 6 player in kulich.

I think other teams have had their own problems, albeit of different nature, for example Columbus losing Johnny, and then Monahan due to injury, but they are doing well.

I started to put together a hypothetical lineup and was looking at how different guys play together. And the one thing I think is inescapable is that cozens needs to go.


Obviously hes still young and has a bit of potential. But man, everyone plays worse with him. Just can't warrant giving him a roster spot on this team again if we want to be competitive. Can easily see him contributing for a different team, and us looking like fools again, but I can't find a spot for him on this roster

Absolutely, I don't see a place for him in the team and his brain is just broken.

While it's hard to assess his value right now, his contract doesn't help, I think there might be some GMs around the league who might like him, maybe Verbeek and Armstrong (Utah), maybe someone else. I think we could get him some useful roster assets, but I don't think we'll get a good top 6 C for him, even with some minor +.

I don't see Zucker being on this team after the trade deadline. It just seems like poor asset management unless he is going to resign but I would not not if I was him. I would want to go to a contender at the deadline. With his performance he can probably get a good contract next year with a contender.

I also think Greenway gets traded for the same reason. Why resign here when you can go to a contender. I also think its cheaper for Pegula/Adams to promote within. It also makes no sense to sign Greenway long term when you have Ostlund and Helanius NHL ready in 2 years.

Rosen is pretty much next year or bust unless he is traded he will probably be in the starting lineup next year.

Wahlberg another year in the AHL. I think Ostlund and Helanius get long looks but probably last to be sent down.

I couldve sworn I read Zucker was interested in re-signing here. Who knows? Maybe he likes the area to raise his family.

Thats what I said, unless he is willing to resign he will get traded. I don't think they keep him to let him walk in free agency. I think Zucker makes that decision before the trade deadline passes.

I don't really see Greenway interfering with Helenius or ostlund. Different skillets and positions. An issue with this team has been youth, although I think I'd really call it 'unproven'. I wouldn't worry about blocking those two until they absolutely have to be in the lineup

I know momentum is high for kulich and Kozak right now but I look at that lineup and see 5 forwards that haven't proven they can handle their roles: kulich, cozens, Krebs, Kozak, Quinn. Maybe they all can, but Im not eager to wait and see. I'd be willing to keep 3 from that group.

Benson makes it in without a doubt for me
