At this point idc if it ends up being Cozens, Helenius, Byram and this years 1st.

This team is a chore to watch. Even if they lose, hit the f*** out of everything.
This is the genius of Adams lack of moves.

He’s made a roster so flawed, so unlikable, that people won’t care what he sends out the door.

The long game. Played to perfection.

Friedman doesn't drop sabres info unless he's very confident as he constantly talks about how tight lipped the Sabres org is. This has got to have some smoke.

But i also wouldn't be shocked if it's Vancouver trying to get a Miller deal across the finish line.

Adams is not a very good poker player (ie Eichel) so I would not doubt what your saying, Were all waiting for the excuse why this deal does not get made (likely Pegula in there in some way and money).

And if Freidman is leaking it, there is alternative motives usually just not being straight. Also think he has a axe to grind.

Adams is in a tough spot. He says he can’t get players to waive and always talks about being open to a Big move to help the roster…

And here it is. A guy who can’t say no…is signed…and can’t go anywhere. I don’t want to hear about players that want to be here. You’re in the league. Act like it.

So he either does it…and finally does something that matters at the cost of having balls with his moribund roster of players he won’t move…or he doesn’t and the player goes elsewhere and he has burned his…let’s say millionth final straw.

It’ll be the latter because nothing he does matters…which is why he doesn’t do anything.

And of course we’re the team that should do it. We are positioned perfectly to be the team that does it. But it shouldn’t just be done to say we did something. It should be done to be the first move in a new era of taking this shit seriously. Spend your cap. Move your prospects. Move your picks. Build a roster. Five f***ing years.

If it doesn't happen I think it's more on Pegula not wanting to pay up. Adams bears responsibility for being willing to be a pawn, but he is ultimately just a pawn.

Yeah I'm sure there's some real-ness to it, not fabricated, but the whole league also knows we're in a tough spot and we can easily be used as the "other team" driving up value

When the Sabres were stupidly shopping ROR, players like Lindholm, Hanafin, and Hamilton were available and traded elsewhere for each other. The Sabres traded ROR for prospects and cap dumps because the owner wanted the trade done before he had to pay ROR his bonus.

When the Sabres were shopping Eichel, players like Matt Tkachuk and Weeger were available and were traded for each other.

Now Necas and Rantanen get traded for each other.

If Petterson ends up traded anywhere but Buffalo for anything less than an absurd overpayment, I'm going to be pissed.

Pettersson is due a big payday every summer after this one with a $5M bonus every July 1st. I can't see this shit bag owner okaying it.

This shell game of who is to blame tires me.

Adams is the GM. He says they’re in on everything and he does nothing. Friedman says they’re in on this. They’ll be sending plenty of money out the door before cutting costs at the deadline on another lost year.

It’s on him to get it done.

We can’t keep letting him say he has every resource, not use them at all, and continue to be employed because he’s covering for the owner who is not allowing him to do things. We are years past that. At least the media started pushing back last presser…and he melted down fast. Set a standard for him on this. Then hold him, alone, to that mark. Until he melts away.

This 100%.

There is no way Pegula is greenlighting Adams to bring on someone making 11.6 for 7 more seasons.

I have no idea if Adams would make that deal if he actually had the autonomy under another owner, but i do know that Terry ain't allowing it.

Ultimately, Adams might not have been willing to pay Vancouver's asking price, but Adams is not a serious buyer here anyhow - he's like the guy who kicks the tires on every boat for sale in town, wasting all the sellers time, knowing full that he can't actually buy a boat because his wife won't let him spend the money.

*I am secretly hoping Adams and Pegula read my post and it gets under their skin so much that they make the deal just to spite me.

If it came down to pure money, I wonder if we would overpay for a small retention to put a dent in the bonus due

pegula’s already got a financial plan in mind to afford him

- pay-to-use restrooms at arena events
- insurance fraud fire on the harborcenter
- blackmailing the new bills ownership group with certain photographs

The bonus is the issue (which I believe there's some ways to skid around paying that all that at once) realistically if we are trading for EP, enough money is going out the door to Vancouver to where it's negligible.

He’s gonna trade for the wrong, much cheaper Elias Pettersson on Vancouver as a way to sell off more money and then act like it was an oops.

If Byrum and or Greenway are part of that deal, I'm sure Allvin needs assurance of them willing to sign extensions there.

If Greenway or Cozens are guys Tochett likes just "maybe" the Sabres have that in there favor here.

In the end I think were the old Arizona Coyotes of the NHL now and I'm starting to wonder what Bettman might think of that.

Pegula pays Cozens, Power and Samuelsson huge amounts of money and now those guys basically don't justify it, why wouldn't he pay Pettersson. Terry doesn't like paying people who leave the team, but I'm not sure he doesn't want to pay people who come to save his sinking ship.

Oh no kevyn. They gonna get your ass.

Why does this guy still have a job? We would all be fired from our jobs by now if this was the product of our work.

What do you think his prime directive from his boss, who gave him the job because the last guy refused to fire most of the staff to save money, is?

To win? No. He’d be fired by now.

What’s the one thing he’s succeeded at doing? That stands in line with what the last guy didn’t? The thing he’s clearly done well enough to keep the job he’s never been qualified for in the eyes of the only person who can make that decision?

I mean, in every big name available, it becomes 'leaked' that the Sabres are interested.

Wouldn't shock me if he told Friedman himself his the #1 contender for Pettersson while he last talked to vancouver in 2022.
Well, Friedman recently reported that Adams has been in talks with the Canucks for several weeks. Maybe he really was talking about EP40 then, and now that he seems available again, Friedman called the Sabres the favorite for that.
