Cozens + Byrum still ?Want. Desperately.
I'm still hoping a Power plus sweeteners deal could be made for EP and then Cozens for a vet forward. But yeah, those deals would certainly solve many of the roster flaws.Cozens + Byrum still ?
Then make the prospects for Rust/M.Pettersson (with bridge extension) deal ?
Joker, Greenway, Lafferty for assets at deadline
Center spine
Elias .P
Tage or Kulich if Tage stays on wing
Kulich or McLeod based on above
Krebs/Kozak
Cook: Helenius, draft Center
Can’t say I disagree but at this point, just focus on nurturing Kodak’s development.Pham thinks the Sabres should keep Kozak up and waive NAK.
Wow, I didn't expect to see this when I woke up in the morning, but yes, the guys are working.Rantanen for Necas (basically). Wowza!
But no deals are out there-Sabres management
Adams had his chance at Necas this summer, but the player and agent were smart and blocked it with being unwilling to sign an extension. Good for them!IF Adams was in on this deal, and looking at the pieces moved, which partner player do you think he would’ve been? What would’ve been the piece that gets moved? I’m assuming Buffalo wouldn’t haven’t been Chicago because of the salary retention because that’s never been an asset Adams uses.
Adams isn’t going to change his stripes.
Your going to likely have to give up Byrum or Power + to get Elias. Who fills that D hole ?Now is the time to get two Petterssons and maybe one experienced Pens winger. Then there's not much left to do.
Yeah, any of Power/Byram and Cozens will do it. Probably getting another top 6 wing from Pens or somewhere else wouldn't be that big of problem. Rust has no trade protection this summer, Rakell could agree to play with Dahlin and the two Petterssons in Buffalo. Then it's just a matter of finding a replacement for Greenway and a top 4 RD for the second pair.Your going to likely have to give up Byrum or Power + to get Elias. Who fills that D hole ?
Does Marcus play with Dahlin or Power if he stays ?
If it's found that Pegula is blocking deals then protests should begin at the arena.
Wouldn't Necas have had two more years of control even if he didn't want to sign an extension? Maybe it was worth the gamble to convince him to sign later.Adams had his chance at Necas this summer, but the player and agent were smart and blocked it with being unwilling to sign an extension. Good for them!
Adams in hiding in a bunker in Clarence Center apparently. Is he hiding from the fans, press, or the owner?
I doubt we'll trade Levi. Rosen and Johnson are two players that come to mind. Johnson is approaching 24 and hasn't really had a chance in the NHL yet, Rosen is hard to find a spot when we need to cut down on the youth movement up front, not add more youth. Kozak is a little different and will probably play on the fourth line and I'm okay with that. Like Baker said, it might not just be prospects, but just young guys on the roster. Maybe Krebs for example.I wonder what Sabres NHL ready prospects Dubas is interested in ?
Johnson and Levi come to mind.
Don't think they would let Ostlund go (and he he far from nhl ready most would agree) with what Pens players have been mentioned and I'm not sure how regarded Rosen is around the league really?
Helenius and Walhberg would be off limits for me
I can let a big prospect go from the pool with it looking like a top 5 pick coming in the summer.
If it's found that Pegula is blocking deals then protests should begin at the arena.
I'd still try to get Pettersson by adding Cozens into the deal, but overall I think we could find a good deal elsewhere that would fill some of our gaps.I am ready to trade Dylan Cozens and I get the feeling he is ready to be traded too.
His value has to be that of a 30 goal scorer not the guy that is struggling now or no point in trading him.
Find a sucker GM that feels they can turn him around.
