Cozens & Samuelsson for Pettersson, the Canucks have to be smarter than that.
Man... I think this is a very weak package, Samuelsson is worth nothing with his game, constant injuries and contract. And Cozens is a player with 40 points now, who gets 7 million a year. Alvin will immediately hang up and he will be right. Look at the Eichel deal at least as an example, but perhaps less futures.

I just wonder if Cozens and Pettersson are the main pieces, Samuelsson in for cap balancing and then some mixture of top prospects and some high picks.

I know it's unlikely, unless they REALLY like Cozens for some reason.

I think Byram is more valuable than Cozens right now. Also, if he doesn't want to re-sign contract with Buffalo, there's no point in keeping him and it makes sense to trade him now if the Canucks are happy with him. In any case, we need to plan the roster for next season, and not try to save this one with all our might. If your main package is Cozens + Samuelsson, then we'd probably have to include our best prospect in the deal or something like that.

Totally agree and I'm willing to move Byram to get a real 1C. I just think Cozens has to be the other piece going back. They're obviously going to need a Center in any deal. I'd also strongly consider Tage and a lesser d-man in this type of move (i.e. Samuelsson or Joki).

I ultimately think they'll decide against trading Petey. Even with his struggles, he's easily a to 15 center around the league with an okay contract. If we can somehow parlay 2nd line and 2nd pairing guys into a 1C, that could be a franchise altering move.

Well, we were mainly talking about Cozens + Byram package for EP40. I don't really believe in it either, they'll probably trade Miller, but then it's unclear why Adams is negotiating with the Canucks for so long.

Honestly I think Cozens + non-roster assets gets it done for Pettersson.

I think Sabres fans underrate the value of Cozens and other teams think if he gets out of Buffalo they can turn him around.

Keep in mind Rick Tocchet is the coach of the Canucks and growing up watching Tocchet, you can bet Cozens is the type of player that Tocchet loves.

Sounded like Canucks called about Cozens. Not sure Adams has the balls to trade Cozens++ for Pettersson.

Miller has a NMC and no way he waives it for Buffalo.
Well, I'm kidding, but you never know. I'm just not sure the Canucks want to trade Pettersson.

Maybe. Tocchet may also like Greenway, as Canucks fans have told me.

Listening to Elliote Friedman he thinks there would be a lineup to get Cozens. Sounds like he has a lot of value.

Cozens, Quinn and one or maybe two of Samuelson, Jokiharu, Greenway, prospect, draft pick for Pettersson
Quinn seems to be declining at least on the Sabres and could be replaced by Rosen for the short term.

Any trade will need to be near cap neutral next yeat. Cozens×l+byram/Samuelson is near what Peterson cap will be

Quinn, when on, is a production machine. Too young to give up on that potential. Not when his value is this low. There are other options to move.

Zucker and his 5m is gone next year...Balancing the cap is not difficult and trades don't have to balance the cap they can do it in the offseason

Yes but you have to give to get. The offer has to be appealing to get their interest. I think Byram has more trade value than Quinn and could potentially be used as somewhat of a centerpiece in another trade. I also would be alright with Cozens and Byram for Petersson if that’s what it took. But I would rather trade from an area of more abundance and use Quinn.

We have an abundance of top 6 wingers? News to me. Quinn is a sunken asset right now, terrible management to even consider moving him right now.

He seems to be Ruff's punching bag. On the fourth line today, he's been a healthy scratch a few times. I like Quinn, but if we want to make the playoffs we need to cut down on the youth movement. We could keep Quinn, but then we'd have to trade some other young players, for me it's no problem.

I would trade any young player at or below Byram and Cozens level. Keep Quinn and Peterka since they are due to resign and shouldn't be expensive contracts.
