If I had a worker that was doing a terrible job and was thinking of letting them go and they told me "they had a great idea" but needed to borrow my biggest and most expensive piece of equipment, what would my answer be?

I, of course, agree. Makes me wonder who's pulling the strings here. Terry was just publicly embarrassed. Are we about to get another owner ordered deal? (e.g., "I'm not paying Ryan O'Reilly another cent! I don't care what it takes, get him off this team before his bonus is due!")

That said, if we're going to make a trade for the sake of making a trade, then why tf not just roll the dice on the Kakko reclamation project???

Id rather have Johnson in the lineup myself and he's likely not much better than Gilbert. But it certainly falls into the Stillman type category of doing something, but not enough.

At this point, I believe Adams’ first 3 years were all about finances, and “don’t loose too much money” because Covid. I won’t blame him for those 3 years because he inherited the issues with Eichel and others.

So at this point, I’d prefer not to trade Cozens, and only trade Byram if you can do it for similar aged center or right defense. That’s it. Trade another midget if you can, or nothing trades.

My “fix it,” is to either build up/structure the front office properly, or sell the team. I want experience, winning experience too. This season is lost so get me to the off-season where we can properly hire assistant coaches because that’s a mess too.

I’ve been all for the draft and develop but looking at our lineup,most of these kids should’ve been in the minors years longer, ie Paterka, Quinn, Krebs and even Benson should not be in the NHL yet (although there is an argument that he should). Power should have had a steady vet partner, either get him one or he’ll be crap soon enough.

1st up….team president, or some advisors that have the decision making power of the team.

I don't think there should have been any expectations that a deal was going to get done before the holiday freeze. Adams is pretty high on character and doing the "right things" which would most likely include not ripping someone away from their family before the holidays.

1.The idea is to use the first as the main piece. I would have no problem adding to get a quality player.
