For some reason his game has fallen off a cliff this season.
I’ve got good buddies that watch every islanders game (live in Nassau) and they’d rather trade him then sign him long term for whatever he’ll demand - just because they think he’s a joke defensively. Guys with pretty good hockey knowledge too id say. I’d much rather a guy like Pulock over Dobson

If we can get a top 4 RHD for Cozens I pull the trigger. Cozens adds nothing so its like adding a free defenseman.

What happened to the Cozens from the World Championships?

Yeap, I was thinking about Pulock too.

With this contract he is now playing at a loss to us, everyone dreams of moving him to the wing, but we also don’t know whether he will succeed there or not, but Ruff doesn’t do it and we can’t see it. Cozens is one of our first forwards that I am ready to trade.

Unfortunately this team isn't going to win with Joker in the top 4 and Bryson in the top 6.

Adams hasn't bothered to deal with the situation on defense. Trading for a top 4 to partner with Power should have been much easier last off season but he ignored it.

This is going on years that the defense needed to be better.

We also have problems in attack, no 2C, Quinn doesn't produce, Peterka is inconsistent, Tuch sometimes floats, plus injuries. Adams just screwed up.

I agree on the summer part but no one wanted to come here and trades were far and few.
What do you mean he didn't want to come? Most players don't have a no-trade clause. Marino, Kovacevic and Jensen were traded this summer. Fabbro was recently available for next to nothing. There are always options.

These guys are good players.. not superstars ... Thompson plus Power is waaay too much for Barzal and Dobson.

Dobson might be just as bad as Power in the defensive zone.
Barzal + Pulock makes more sense.

Buffalo just needs to pick an identity and go with it. Right now I think they're struggling with how to play.

They were all good with run and gun, outscoring teams, defense be damned. And it almost worked. Had Buffalo's power play and PK been more effective two years ago, they would've made the playoffs. And that was before UPL emerged.

There are other styles. They could play the Islanders defensive style. The Florida/old LA Kings power style. The Lightning / old Blackhawks possession style. At this point, I don't think anyone cares. Just pick a method and do it.

This high-talent roster playing a defensive style, without the horses on defense, isn't working.

What are people's thoughts on Kulich's play?

I really like what he has shown this call up. It hasn't shown up on the scoreboard but he has been really engaged in the offensive side of things. He seems to be always around the net. If he can get a little more engaged I think it will start to show on the scoreboard.

I think he was good, but he was constantly playing on different lines and we didn't have stability in the lineup. I think we definitely need a really good top 6 C, with whom we can try different wingers, but at the moment it's hard to really evaluate anything.

This roster has enough talent to at least contend for a WC spot, but not with the way they play.

The number of bonehead defensive mistakes they make is unforgiveable. Stupid d-man pinches with no forward back. Two guys covering the puck carrier. Failing to tie up forwards' sticks. Losing coverage as an opponent streaks to the net. This is Hockey 101 stuff that house league peewees are taught.

Lindy has to take some of the blame here, but too many of our 1st-round picks (I count 11, 5 in the top-10) lack the consistent determination it takes to succeed at the NHL level, as individual players and as a team.

They continue to play like the youngest team in the league. Leaning on so many 24 and under guys year after year... it's the same thing over and over. The guys who understand how to play a professional game are usually in their mid-20's. Youth is being served and it's being served on a platter for the rest of the league to feast upon again.

Marino, for me, would have been and still is a hard pass. Kovacevic and Jensen would have been interesting but feel they would have been just as bad as what we have now. Fabbro, I would have taken a chance on for something dirt cheap future considerations or Glotov's rights :)).
