yeah I'm sure Robinson would've been a Stud here :eyeroll:

Probably about as effective as Lafferty. Good on Robinson for his early season success, just has not continued after the hot start, back to his usual scoring pace. It's that a guy whose game is predicated by being the F1 taking the body is not a useful player in an all-skate-no-hit format like what Granato was running.

Feels like Tage is getting jammed up pretty hard on the wing. He really does not belong there.
Especially in a line with Cozens, his metrics immediately drop there. Tage should play in the center and without Cozens on the line.

I think Zucker is closer to returning a 2nd (or even a 1st with a 3rd going the other way) from a contender with how he's going.

It's clear that we should keep him though - he's an excellent fit here. 2x5M seems fair to both sides. He'd be thrilled to lock in another 10M later in his career and I don't think he's the type to take the money and mentally retire early either.

Even though it's always wishful thinking, I could see Zucker as the rare guy who'd accept a trade to chase a Cup with a strong agreement that he intends to sign back here in July. He understands the business and might be open to such a mutually beneficial arrangement.

Cozens charts have been bottom half to bottom (last night). I'm fully on board trading him if you can get a piece(s) you like now. Problem is Detroit just won 7 in a row so your opportunity may have gone there because your pseudo GM/owner and his assistant are scared of their shadow

It is that time of year when trade speculation runs rampant — although, in some cases, for no real reason.

This brings us to Rasmus Andersson. Teams have called the Calgary Flames about the top-four defenseman, and the answer to each team has been the same: There’s no interest in trading him.

Why would they? They’re legitimately in a playoff race in the Western Conference, and Andersson’s contract has another year on it after this season. The Flames plan to try to extend Andersson this summer. There’s no guarantee they can get that done, but for the time being, they’ve got time on their side before crossing that bridge.

Flames general manager Craig Conroy has even talked to Andersson recently to make sure he knows the trade speculation is not real. The Flames want to keep some key veterans around as they continue their retool. They don’t want to tear it down. They see Andersson as one of those key veterans. At least for this season, that’s the plan.

Speaking of the Flames, they continue to scour the market for a 25-and-under, right-shot center, which is a difficult proposition. They are among the very long list of teams that have checked in with the Buffalo Sabres regarding 23-year-old Dylan Cozens.

If Andersson is off the table, I'd love to know what Craiger was thinking he could offer up for Cozens that Adams would bite on...

Myabe Shara+, Idk. But do they want to keep all vets or are there some that might be available?

There is a temptation to get a pick, of course, but I don't want to risk it, he might change his mind. As I understand it, he is divorced and has two children in Minnesota. Maybe in the summer he will want to consider options closer to the children. I'm just not sure we'll be able to add a player and vet as good as Zucker if he leaves.

Hopefully it should kill the "hes too dumb to play center, move him to wing " theory, if the fact that he didn't break out until he moved to center, or the fact that he's centered some of our only successful lines in the past decade didn't already

Ironically before cozens draft I made a risto comparison, and I think its still somewhat fitting. Good players can have bad charts, but when it reaches a level of consistency you have to start giving them some additional consideration.

Cozens numbers haven't been as much of an anchor as ristos were, and hes had good/fine years that risto never had, but its the same feeling. And to Rasmus' credit he did improve a bit in philly, the analytics weren't gospel, but he never played to the potential.

I think Dylan has a higher ceiling and could very well find his game but I think if any team remotely sees that 60-70 point , strong defensive 2C potential, you let them be the ones to try to make it happen

Yeah, Tage at whatever percentage of health he's playing at isn't all that great but full credit to him trying to continue to play. It's not so much about him not being good at wing, he's not good anywhere right now with what appears to be one fully functional hand and one not so much.

He’s on the wing due to another injury he’s playing through. Maybe he can be an effective winger, maybe not. But playing there injured isn’t going to help tell us.

Sabres Live tidbit:
Saad is a healthy scratch, move being anticipated

Dregs on Sabres Live:
Zucker will likely be in play at the deadline over a extension
Gourde will likely be moved, very coveted around the league
Tavares on IR, Leafs could look at O'Reilly, but not great fit with other players already there
Jarry being waived is so he can work out his game in minors, no one expected to claim/trade
Dubas will make changes in Pit, watch Drew O'Connor

Well Adams won't trade for a rental, also Gourde as I found out is bad at center.

Saad has full trade protection, although it seems he wasn't good.

I don't know much about Drew O'Connor, is he a good player?

Idk.. I have a feeling if we traded our entire roster out for the Florida Panthers roster we would be in the same position. We just seem cursed.

I don't believe in it, I just see a lot of flaws on all levels, it's called a bad job, not a curse.

Dreger mentioned immense respect for him and getting him to contender for playoffs
On the other hand, Zucker likes it in Buffalo and wouldn't mind re-signing. Of course, you can sell him, and in the summer he might come back, but I don't think that happens very often. Also, maybe he needs some stability, and not constant traveling, to see his kids,
