Prospect Info: The 2024 - 2025 Prospect Thread: Part 2: WE ARE SO F***ING BACK

Mynio with a 2G-1A for 3 pts against lowly Kelowna. Calgary has given up 3 goals against in their last 6 games. Mynio's playing big minutes on that blueline. Giving up nothing is more impressive than his offensive numbers to me.
Calgary's got a strong group of defencemen for sure. Mynio's a good prospect, Yakemchuk was drafted 7th overall. The sleeper, in my opinion is Kalem Parker. Normally wouldn't expect much from a guy drafted in the 6th round who is playing as an overager in the CHL and isn't signed yet by his drafting team (Wild), but it wouldn't surprise me if he has an actual NHL career.

I realize that Danila Klimovich has been a polarizing player on these Boards--and for good reason.

But watching him the last few games, something might have 'clicked' with him. He really developing some raw speed off the wing, and his shot is just handcuffing AHL goalies. I know we've seen this blip on the radar screen before, but somehow it just seems more sustainable this time.

I would really be huge if he suddenly morphed from a 'suspect' into a legitimate 'prospect' He's listed at 6'2"and 202, and just turned 22 in early January.

For a team starved for size, speed and shot-making off the wing like the Vancouver Canucks--it would be a bit of a game-changer if he had any NHL potential at all.

It’s the game they have to play to have a chance to win. They don’t have a Connor or Leon in their back pocket to play fire wagon hockey. Funny, everybody whines about Tocchet but don’t provide any names of who should replace him and why.
doesn’t need to be binary, either firewagon or lemaire hockey.

i am just venting about how absolutely horrible it is to watch right now
whole league is pretty boring right now outside of some of the dynamic players and some games where teams decide to trade chances which is increasingly rare

Overstuffed goalies, big mobile defences with guys allowed to lay on the ice in front of the net. Coaches all play similar neutral zone traps and coach the shit out of protecting the house and scorn/bench players for blue line turnovers and getting on the wrong side of the puck

They would all be happy to win 1-0 for the most part.......the fans eat the shit sandwich

The problem is we just dont have guys who can break down the inside and that won't improve without a couple fast dangerous forwards and/or some rule changes

Get rid of the neutral zone.

Get rid of the neutral zone.
I would take 2 inches off the top of the pads and make it a penalty to leave your feet to defend below the hash marks
Oh and every goal gets auto reviewed. Gotta be the dumbest rule in pro sports having to challenge a questionable goal and then end up short handed and possibly cost you another. i actually like the high sticking 2-4-5 or head contact 2-5 reviews that international has gone to as well.

Hockey had things right when they reviewed questionable goals in the past. Then they introduced the coach's challenge and it has been terrible. I hope they get rid of it.

Nothing is more frustrating than needing to wait five minutes for the NHL to determine if a play, that occurred 30 seconds before the goal, was offside.

Totally agree. I have been advocating for years that you can only go back say 10 or 15 seconds. It’s ridiculous that the Sedins could pass the puck around for a minute and a half score a goal and have it called back. And I’m a big fan of anything That will increase the number of goals score in the NHL.

Hey I've been a fan of this franchise since day one. My dad took me to the second game they ever played when they beat the Laffs. I know exactly how you feel so for me a little bit of winning is all we have now. Hang in there. It's only been 54 yrs. Things will look up one day!!
