I love your enthusiasm but the last part really to a guy in his last junior season having this stat line?

26111223

Alriksson has taken enormous strides and has progressed in so many ways from skating , physicality , point production , vision , hockey sense etc

Especially from a kid who only had 21 points in 43 games in Swedish jr and it looked like him having any chance at the pros would be considered a long shot .

His ceiling is and has always been Alex Toropchenko and he is well on his way to having a shot at that potential

How is this Ty Mueller kid doing these days? Heard he has been playing pretty well. Skates well and works his bag off apparently.

Canuck blueline prospects both score goals in pre-tournament action leading up to the World Jr. Hockey Championships which start on Boxing Day.

Tom Wilander with a goal in an 11-1 beatdown of Germany. Meanwhile, Basile Sansonnens scored in Switzerland's 5-1 win over Latvia.

Can we create a WJC thread specifically to follow our prospects playing in the tourny?

Like I said I like your enthusiasm but this line was over the top for a guy who probably won't even make the NHL in any meaningful way.

Is there anything this kid can’t do

Sure it would be great if he was the exception to the rule but the rule stills applies.

You gotta have fun , us Canucks fans have suffered for a long time , and a lot of other commenters commented and went along with it and made some pretty funny remarks and I really like the NBA center remark ,

I’m not sure why you mad about this or have reacted the way you have and are being negative about Alriksson.

Toropchenko has found meaningful ways to contribute at the NHL level , what makes you think Alriksson can’t reach that same contribution,

Especially when he will potentially outproduce Toropchenko’s junior point production,

And his size can absolutely contribute meaningfully in the NHL you can’t teach his size

Agreed. He impressed me when I saw his highlights after he was drafted. He passed the eye test when he was showcased. And he got rave reviews from Tocchet.

A very big kid with decent speed, decent hands, and decent production for his D+1 year. For where he was drafted, what more can you ask for. If he ever develops some snarl to go with his impressive size and decent tools, he has a chance to be a good middle 6 tweener.

I think he debuts with the baby Canucks before the year is done, and that he gets a game or two after Christmas, in 2026.

Unless he derails. Which is entirely possible.

But he could be a good 3rd liner in 2027, on an ELC.

he's not playing in the echl either. i think he's completely unready for pro-hockey. give it a little time. gadjovic pulled it together.

Last time I looked, I think he got hurt at some point in November. Not sure what has happened with him since then.

I don’t think Gadjovich was ever anywhere near as far out in the weeds as Bloom has been so far. Hopefully he puts it together and carves out a pro career for himself, though.

A 6'6" 240 lb winger with good straight line speed scoring at a PPG pace in the CHL at 19 is probably a legitimate prospect, in my opinion. I've had very few opportunities to watch him, though.

It’s a bit of a weird one. Like, it’s not like he’s some beanpole waiting to fill out, or is a clunky skater or has no shot or something like that. You’d assume that a kid with that size, with his hands and feet as well, should be able to absolutely annihilate junior hockey as a 19yo just on his physical attributes alone.
