One of my favourite prospects who fills an organizational need who like you said might be a little under appreciated. One kid I lean heavily towards at 18/19 is Lukas Dragicevic. He's a big right shot defencemen 6'2, 190 from Richmond, BC. Excellent transitional defencemen, great skater, poise with the puck, PP QB, great passer with solid vision and is a really good skater. Has some defensive holes in his game and takes a lot of risks with the puck but he's the perfect prototypical modern day defencemen.
Some may say he's a reach at 18/19 but I think he's being slept on a bit.
It’s important to note that Chevy will likely take at least one member of the USNDTP team (or American college/USHL) in the first 3 rounds. Adjust accordingly
When was the last draft day trade Cheveldayoff made? My guess is the 2016 Logan Stanley trade. Plus a minor 7th round pick swap with Montreal in the same draft.I wonder if there is a possibility of the Jets moving back this draft to acquire a 2nd round pick. The Jets would be difficult to project but they generally draft on best available on their draft board but if there is a group of players they like maybe we jump back if not a guy I am liking more and more especially after the U18s is Otto Stenberg. Thought he looked really good there.
I’ve watched him quite a bit live up in Owen Sound. I was at their final playoff game against London when he got injured and left the game. The team was directionless without him and fizzled out the rest of the game. He’s a a great overall player but not really elite at anything particular if you get my drift. Great team leader, he was given the C as soon as he arrived. He’s solid away from the pucks, good 2 way game. Skating looks a bit blocky to me but fixable. I’d be ok with him at 18. I just wish he played C. I think he’d do well there, his game suits itI am not a Barlow lover but I can see him going in that top 16 even top 10 easily. I really think there are 20 to 25 players that are fairly interchangeable in that top 40

Unfortunately not.Have you seen much of Calum Ritchie, if so what are your thoughts on him?

I think he could be a quick transition to the NHL as well. He's got the size, he just needs some seasoning. We have the perfect partner for him in Morrissey as well locked up long term. We could really use that size, speed and offensive firepower on our backend.
One player looking more and more intriguing is Quentin Musty from Sudbury. He truly has learned how to use his line mates better and is turning into an exceptional passer. His shot is already amazing and he is huge. Good skater too .An old school power forward if their ever was one.
This draft is so deep, loading up on later round picks and 2nd's could be very wise for building organizational depth.
I think it's possible for Chicago to speed up the rebuild by a few years given it's a large desirable market for UFA types, similar to LA and New York.Imagine if Bedard got a chance to play with Laine… man that would be cool to see. Instead he’s gonna waste half a decade in Shitcago while they try and figure shit out.
Would you be happy with Yager at #18. What is your scouting report on him Dax?
Hopefully something like this plays out; good chance of a decent player falling to us if the Flames select someone who has already been selected. My quick top 16 draft
1. Chicago - Bedard
2. Ducks - Fantilli
3. Cbus - Smith
4. Sharks - Carlsson
5. Montreal - Michkov
6. Yotes - Reinbacher(wouldn't shock me to see them move back too)
7. Flyers - Yager
8. Caps - Leonard
9. Detroit - Dvorsky
10. Blues - Benson
11. Nucks - Ritchie
12. Yotes - Sandin Pellikka
13. Buffalo - Moore
14. Penguins - Danielson
15. Preds - Sale
16. Flames - Leonard
Why do so many folks think the Coyotes are drafting Reinbacher at 6th overall? Maybe at 12.My quick top 16 draft

Michkov is such a wildcard here. CBJ seems like a team that isn't afraid to draft Russians. But he could go anywhere in this draft.
In a normal draft with less talent in The top 6 he is easier to place but I would be shocked if he drops past 6. He seems like he really fits the Coyotes time line. From what I saw of him he is really dynamic BUT he’s Russian, on a long term deal in Russian, he’s a winger, and he’s a bit on the small side. That being said he put up 20 points in 27 KHL games as a 17 year old and that is special.
Has Arizona ever really had a timeline? Michkov would probably be the best player they've ever drafted but what are the odds he signs there longterm? By 26/27 he's gonna be 22 so they could potentially get 5 years of team control if he comes over, 2 of which will be ELC years.
That's a lot of risk for a team that generally has issues keeping players long term.
But Houston already has an arena ready...I think the Coyotes timeline is when the new arena is ready.
