My ranking as to there likelihood of playing significant games in the NHL

Podkolzin - 98%
Rathbone - 87%
Dipietro - 74%
Juolevi - 53%

And yes I pulled those numbers out of my ass, but I think they are not far off.

what is defined as significant?

It's what I call the Derrick Pouliot line. A lot of top-10 picks hit 200 games or so just by being top-10 picks.

That said, he's behind schedule.

I guess at this point if Olli turns out as good as Derek Pouliot it will be something but it still should have been Matthew Tkachuk as our roster was screaming for a guy like him at the time of the draft.

yea, top-10 picks get so many chances..
going back from 2006 to the 2016 draft. the following are the only ones not to hit it besides juolevi:
hamill, filatov, glennie, reinhart, koekkoek, mcilrath, h.fleury, dal colle,a.nylander

koekkoek, fleury, dal colle, nylander all with chances to hit 200 still.

Manukyan is up to 7 games played with no points and after several games being above 15 minutes, he was down to closer to 10 this past game. He must be doing something right to avoid a benching, but whatever that is it has zero impact on the scoresheet.

Thanks for the updates! He must be close to (NHL) bust territory now, if not already there.

hard to believe he can stick in the khl at that size without production.

Or Jakob Chychrun, the better player in the same league just not on the stacked team.

Jasek is a legitimate star in Liiga with a stat line of 2g - 6a - 8p in only five games played. That's good enough to have him leading the league. I doubt he has much of an NHL future with the Canucks, but he'll have a nice career in Europe or the KHL.

i hope he can sustain it. finding success there might lift his game to come back to the nhl.

Sometimes guys fall for no apparent reason, other than teams are drafting for positional need instead of the BPA. There was a couple in the most recent draft, headlined by Carson Lambos who was miraculously still on the board when Minny drafted 26th overall.

Sometimes d-men just seem to fall in their draft year.....no discernible reason...but there are NHL teams who are glad they did.
