The post-season is starting for our CHL and ECHL prospects and as these are more easily watchable for most of us I figured I'd post the matchups and dates so we can all follow along.

Game 2 – Saturday, April 23 at 7 p.m. ET at Flint

I couldn't find times for the WHL games, but I'll add them when I do.
Playoffs start tonight!

Silovs won't be playing for Trois Rivieres; he's back with Abbotsford.

An aside: anybody know if Zlodeyev is still playing? Updates on Forsell, Myrenberg, Gabrielson?

Bains gets going at 6:00 pm Pacific Time.

Persson plays at 7:00 pacific.

Yeah, I saw that Silovs had been recalled but figured I'd keep the schedule up in case he rejoined them and got to start any playoff games.

It looks like Zlodeyev's season ended on March 15th, unless he's been invited to any out-of-season international tournaments.

As near as I can tell Myrenberg's season ended on April 10th, Gabrielson's ended March 30th, and Forsell's ended March 19th. Forsell has played some international games in April, but I'm not familiar with those events and couldn't tell you much about them.

Viktor Persson's Kamloops Blazers won by a score of 9 to 0 and while our prospect was held pointless he went +3 and collected 2 PIM.

Ethen Keppen's Flint Firebirds fall by a score of 3 to 6 but Keppen recorded an assist and was even on the night.

Arshdeep Bains and his Red Deer Rebels won by a score of 5 to 0 and he recorded a goal and went +1 with 2 PIM.

Does anyone know when the Canucks lose Tryamkin‘s rights?

If I’m not mistaken, I think he becomes a UFA this summer, correct?

While I think he’s hugely overrated by some, if he’s willing to accept the fact he’s a depth piece and nothing more, I’d like to see if we can get him signed.

With a new coach and management team, him and his agent may consider signing here, and our management team has talked about finding players in Europe…

I know everything going on with Russia complicates things even further, but, it seems like it’s something we should at the very least look into.

Quite honestly, while he’s a left shot d-man, it would have been way more prudent to sign Tryamkin, and then trade him (or someone else) for a Poolman type of RHD, rather than sign Poolman @ 4x2.5.
I think there was talk that Tryamkin and his agent were looking for 1.5 mill on a 2-3 year deal….

That would just seem to be so much smarter, than closing your eyes and swinging for the fences with Poolman.

If memory serves, we lose Tryamkin's rights when his KHL contract is up at end of the 2022-23 season. The way things are going in Russia and the KHL, I wonder if he and his agent regret not snapping up the Canucks offer if indeed something was on the table last off-season.

But the more interesting guy from the KHL is Andrei Kuzmenko, a 25-year old forward who finished second in KHL scoring. He's a free agent as of April 30th and has been linked to the Canucks.

The ship has definitely sailed on SS Tryamkin.

From what I've seen, he's not been much of an impact on his floundering KHL team. this season

Almost forgot that Canuck prospect Viktor Persson is playing in Kamloops.....surfing backwards, almost nothing on these boards about his season in the Dub.

What kind of a season did he have? What's his future? Is he eligible to go back to the Dub next season, or is it back to Sweden?

Nobody is saying much because he's hit the WHL and floundered. He's not a top-pairing defenseman on his team, isn't producing flashy numbers, and hasn't taken the next step that people had hoped to see.

Viktor Persson's Kamloops Blazers won another one 6-2. He was held pointless but recorded a shot and went +1. It also seems he was credited with an assist for his first game.

Ethen Keppen's Flint Firebirds flipped the script and won 6-3 in a reversal of the previous game's score. Keppen was once again on the scoresheet scoring the third of a trio of goals scored within the span of a minue. Expect to see him get a few more goals if he keeps firing 7 shots per game.

Arshdeep Bains and his Red Deer Rebels lost 2-1 in OT. He was held off the score sheet but managed 5 shots and was even.

Sounds Like Keppen is making a strong case to get a contract next year. We could definitely do with more Powerforwards in the System as Him and Kunz are the only players that are in our system that play that type of game

He had 11 games in the AHL and couldn't reach the level of a Yushiro Hirano or Carson Focht. Keppen will need to take a large step at the AHL level if he's going to be worth a contract slot. That said, he has that AHL experience now and can work on things over the summer to help him make the needed steps I'm just not sure he can do enough to be worth a contract slot.

He might get an AHL deal or an ATO. But he’s not someone I think the Canucks should use a contract slot on at this time.

He was a bit of a long shot anyways, but Covid cancelling the ‘20-‘21 OHL season really set him back.

...
As Tryamkin turned 27 years of age last August, the Canucks lose Tryamkin's rights this summer and if he wasn't under contract for next year he'd be free to sign with any NHL team as an unrestricted free agent this July. His contract with Ekaterina Mobilist runs through the 2022-2023 KHL season.

Speaking of Hirano - he’s someone I wouldn’t mind the organization taking a flyer on and working with this off season. His shot is high quality, I would be curious to see how the rest of his game could round out with NHL/AHL level training. He seems like a really quality human being as well and at the very least, a big fan favourite in Abbotsford.

I would see if he'll take a full-time AHL deal for a season, but if he'd like a proper ELC I think he's shown enough to get that.

Yup. He does things that pop and look like an NHL player - shot, strength on puck, cycle skills - but he looks like he’s carrying 10-15 extra pounds and has never been on a proper training regimen.

He’s old and it’s a long shot but a guy like Pierre-Eduard Bellemarre had a similar development curve coming from a non-hockey country through the lower Swedish leagues before hitting the NHL at age 29.

Worst case is he’s a useful AHLer and fan favourite in Abbotsford.

Feeling a case of prospect depression set in as I watch Logan Stankoven cap off a 45 goal, 104 point season in 59GP, to go on to put up 10 points in his first three playoff games. This kid is absolutely relentless on the puck and never stops working. Having a Brayden Point like ascension right now.

Absolute lay up of a pick in the 2nd round.

But Jim Benning is a master scout! Nobody could have guessed the most obvious bpa being a better pick than master scout Benning’s pick

We need to bring Lukas Jasek back and give him a real shot. Kid had earned it in Abby and JB screwed him over calling up a bunch of guys who hadn't earned it over him.

He's potentially the perfect 3C for us if he can show he belongs. Having a great year in Europe post a solid year in the AHL

He was such an obvious selection. Teams are just terrified of undersized skilled players

Keppen's Firebirds fell 1-2 and trail the series by the same score. He was kept scoreless and went -1 but did manage 3 shots.

Persson's and the Blazers won 5-0 to take a commanding 3-0 series lead. Persson notched another assist and was +1 on the night.

After a quiet couple of games, Bains went off getting a point on each of his team's goals in a 3-1 win that puts the Rebels to a 2-1 series lead. His goal and two assists bring him to 4 points in three games.
