First time I’ve ever missed Will Muschamp. The way Mullen not only didn’t say anything to Marco Wilson after that WOAT penalty, he didn’t even bench the moron. Not like he’s been a total liability all season or anything, but letting a guy play after THAT is inexcusable.Muschamp would’ve gone nuclear on him and it would’ve been great and warranted.

At least Carlos Dunlap is off the hook now, so good for him. Nobody hates you for the 2009 SECCG anymore, it’s all Marco now.

Malzahn finally fired at Auburn. Gotta think that's where Napier ends up.
I hate to say it from a selfish perspective but getting stomped at Iowa State as the last regular season game may be a blessing for WVU. Might keep some suitors (like, say, Auburn) from knocking on the door.

Lovie Smith also out at Illinois.

Auburn is a weird program. They can have years like 2010 and 2013 where it seems like a horseshoe is up their ass but then they follow that up with a 7-6 record and an appearance in the Birmingham Bowl. If they could maintain some consistency they would be a powerhouse.

On another note, it blows my mind that State, Wake Forest, and Duke have gone through no coaching changes since 2014, and Mack Brown is likely at UNC for as long as he feels like coaching.

Honestly it's one of the reasons why if I were a coach I'd want to stay at a smaller program that doesn't have insane expectations. Go 8-5 consistently at Western Michigan or Colorado State? here's a 5 year extension. Go 8-5 at a non-Vandy SEC school? WHY YOU NO CFP?! YOU'RE FIRED, WE CAN DO BETTER! (hint: you probably can't, or if you can your fans will drive whoever can crazy enough to pull an Urban Meyer)

You can blame Alabama for that. Any booster/AD at a major big money SEC school (Florida, Georgia, LSU, Auburn, A&M, Tennessee etc.) is going to wonder why their school can't compete with them when they're dropping big money for coaches, recruiting, facilities etc. In a way, you can't blame them, but it's tough for them to truly grasp at how good Saban is.

It's going to happen at Bama too once Saban retires, anyone they get is going to immediately measured up to him and that's just not fair. Unless they somehow manage to convince Dabo to leave Clemson to go home, whoever replaces him has zero chance for success, which is why I believe that Saban's successor will be from within.

Auburn spends quite a many tons on football. Tbh, they haven’t had a good coach that could do anything more than a flash in the pan season. Malzahn wasnt a good recruiter or developer of QBs. You aren’t going to be successful with it. To make matters worse their O line hasn’t been very good. Supposedly their alumni base didn’t like him, not just because he wasn’t Alabama level successful. The guy didn’t get along well with donors.

Hiring Freeze would make Auburn the top of the pyramid for having their cheating out in the open. Pearl is already a big time cheater and we all know it. Now Freeze too?!?! Auburn openly challenging the NCAA to do something.

Kiffin or the Bama OC would be hilariously bad. Saban would run circles around those two. They need to go outside of the Saban realm of influence.

Im just imagining the day when someone pays me a cool 21 million not to work for them anymore and still be able to get another job in the near future with little doubt.

Iowa State’s coach would be my big time pursuit.

Phillip Montgomery, Pat Fitzgerald, and the Indiana coach would be my 2nd tier

San Jose State and Coastal’s coach would be my 3rd tier.

I love CFB coaching carousel season. Now apparently Kevin Steele is the favorite for the Auburn job and that Freeze is holding out for the Tennessee gig.

Imagine spending $21 million just to promote your DC.

Freeze is f***ing drunk if he's going to turn down Auburn for Tennessee

My god, rumor is that Art Briles will be the coach at Liberty if/when Freeze jumps this off-season.
He’s basically been cleared of any wrongdoing at Baylor. It’s out there if you want to read about it.

I'm just waiting to see who gets fired next.

Congrats to Army on winning the REAL National Championship! #OnBraveOldArmyTeam

4 out of the last 5 for the Black Knights after 14 years of frustration against the Midshipmen. Not bad, Jeff Monken has built a nice program there at West Point.

Yeah, not to get too deep into the whole Baylor thing, but apparently Briles wasn't as involved/aware as previously thought. There were fairly credible rumors that Texas Tech was considering getting him until they chose to retain Wells and fire the OC instead.

If he's not back next season, he'll be back on the sidelines somewhere in 2022, I'm almost sure of it.

I could see it. Even though Tennessee does have to play Bama every year, it's much easier to compete against Florida and Georgia in the East than it is Alabama, Auburn, LSU and A&M in the West. Tennessee would also likely outbid Auburn in any bidding war.

See I'm not so sure of that re Tenn. They definitely will pay more but the resources the school has overall combined with the recruiting territory, I'd bet on myself that I could be successful in the West with better recruiting territory. The only former blueblood that might be in worse position than Tennessee right now is Nebraska.

I mean Tennessee really isn't a strong HS football state, with Dabo they can't really poach SC and NC the way they did under Fulmer, and the kids from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and to a lesser extent Mississippi would rather stay in state usually. Or when they do go out of state they are staying within those states or going to Clemson. Their best hope is going in to Virginia with Tech not being to their usual standard, and even there they're having a hard time swinging kids away from Tech, UVa, and WVU.

Virginia is busy being poached by the likes of Clemson, Penn St, Florida St, Miami, UNC, etc. You want to know why VT isn't nearly as good as it used to be? Justin Fuente has burned just about every bridge imaginable in the Commonwealth to the point where we might get one Virginia Top 20 recruit per year. There's a reason we have pulled in back to back recruiting classes that are in the bottom 10 of the power conferences. And the class we're getting ready to sign this year is following that same trend.

The decision to retain him might be a death blow to the program, at least for the next decade. Such a monumentally bad idea to retain a mistake. I've never seen the VT fanbase as a whole so vehemently angry at something like they are right now.

LOL, ESPN cut into the ending of this game and the ref explaining what was going on, probably to let the world know that LeBron James had lunch or some shit.

Oh and Ball State won because of a forward lateral.

This Mac Jones hype is so forced, dude is elevated by all the mega talent around him. Najee Harris should win the Heisman and it’s not close. Easily the best player on the field.
