Can someone point out to me how this draft works ? can we move up to 1,2,3 draft spots and what's the worst we can drop.
3 teams win the lottery. We can move up to 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, if we win the lottery. If a team behind us wins, they'll bump us down a spot. We can move down a maximum of 3 spots, which would happen if three teams behind us all win the lottery.

@ConnorMcMullet here's mine:

1.) Hughes - Better Marner - 7/8
2.) Kakko - Rantanen - 8
3.) Byram - Josi/Rielly - 6/7
4.) Turcotte - Point - 6
5.) Dach - Draisaitl - 5
6.) Krebs - Marchand Lite - 8
7.) Cozens - Schiefele - 4
8.) Zegras - Marner - 5
9.) Boldy - Landeskog Lite? - 6
10.) Caufield - Debrincat - 6
Thanks, that's pretty similar to mine. It's pretty hard to find a comparison for Boldy. I like your Landeskog comparison, but he is really unique.

Stupid lottery rules. Should only have one lottery. I liked the old lottery better but they redesigned it to screw the Oilers or any team finishing dead last.

Honestly for me the U18s could change a lot of my rankings drastically. It is really hard to get viewings of different players in the draft class, and this tournament will be the easiest way.

Hughes, Turcotte, Zegras, Boldy, Krebs, Cozens, and Podkolzin will all go for top-10 talents. Dach is 50/50 depending on when he gets eliminated. Byram unlikely. Kakko will skip to prepare for Worlds.

Still holding on a hope we can win a top 3 pick haha just to see the hockey world collectively groan and secondly since I think Kakko could be a perfect winger with Nuge in 2 years especially if we land another solid support guy for the second line.

Dach is playing well tonight. You can definitely see his hockey intelligence on display.

Say we fall to 9th or 10th, is anyone here giving Kaliyev a long look or is this too much of a reach?

We need goal scorers and this kid can score.

That was filthy.

He’s good on the PP and PK. Seeing him against tough competition where PA are clearly targeting him finishing every hit and the way he’s rising to the occasion battling back is encouraging.

Maybe he’s got more compete than I’ve given him credit for.

6’4 right handed centres with that versatility and skill aren’t easy to come by.

He did look pretty good on the PK for the most part. A couple close calls where he kind of lost his man in front of the net but he looks like a gem. Took a couple big hits too and didn't shy away.

Each reminds me of Getzlaf and Dubois. Both excellent players. Would gladly take him in the draft.

Dach set up a beautiful pass point blank but his teammate missed it with under a minute left.

Unreal vision

@Oilers in NS

I thought it'd be better to reply in this thread than the Bouchard one to keep it on topic in that one.

For the most part, if the Oilers hold their position, Kirby Dach (Saskatoon Blades), Dylan Cozens (Lethbridge Hurricanes) and Peyton Krebs (Kootenay Ice) seem to have been the most discussed for top ranked guys in the WHL. I'm not a fan of taking Cozens at 7 though. If Dach is still there, I'd snag him.
