The #leafs are still discussing the possibility of trading the 24th pick. The clock is ticking.

24th is not enough for our 2nds imo. noone outstanding left. not totally sold on Konecny

For who? And at what price? Like Kaoss said I doubt there's anyone worth giving up the two 2nds for. Just pick a forward and a d-man there, or even two forwards. Or if you want to trade the high two and the three to move up, eh I suppose I could get behind that.

If there's a player you want you have to move up. Just keeping the two picks is a gamble.

Only if there's a couple rated pretty far above anyone else. Seems like all these guys are in the same late first/early second tier.

Samsonov won't sniff the NHL for a good 2 or 3 years. Might as well add some organizational depth at G and insurance or a trade chip too.

Maybe or maybe they're just protecting themselves in case Holtby leaves in FA? It's not as if goalies play in the league the next couple years after they're drafted anyway. But yeah it's a bit Ahonen/Damphoussish.
