So many issues from my value system, but, yes athletes enjoyed it. It's all about them.

I wish there were MORE people in the stands for these games... such a let down. I will stop there as that's not even the half of it.

Great job indeed and only had to cheat a little bit.

Figure skating judging.

Agreed. They did a good job despite all of the terrorist threats and other criticisms. Some of the conditions were a little bad but overall it was a very nice games.

A good job by the Russians, but I would suspect many of them would view it as a failure after their hockey performance. At least I would, if Canada were in their position. Just the way she goes in hockey obsessed nations. (just saw they won the most amt of gold medals.. I'm sure many are stoked, but I'm equally sure many people are very bitter)

Thanks Russia! First of all, congrats on winning the highest number of gold medals of these games, and second, I wish your Olympians the best in the future! Sochi will be a gem for the training of future Russian athletes.

Some of my Slovenian friends who went to Sochi have said some very nice things about their experiences in the host country. :handclap:

The atmosphere at the hockey games was bad. There were plenty of empty seats. Really took away from the viewing experience. Rest of the games were nice though.

I enjoyed Vancouver more (my favourite Summer or Winter Games ever), but Sochi was a well-produced Games as well. It's not fair to compare the two necessarily when they had such different atmospheres and themes throughout.

Well done to the Russians for getting through the logistical problems and security concerns. It was a fantastic two and a half weeks all in all.

Thankfully Canada kept our gold medal record. ;)

their opening and closing ceremonies are way better than Vancouver's - i thought our ceremonies were embarrasingly bad

Agreed great job and just gorgeous facilities, that hockey rinks design was wonderfull.

I think the American flop will be even more painful!

you don't know what embarrassingly bad means if you haven't seen finland's opening ceremony for the athletics world championships in 2005. we had a gandalf-ripoff flying around with a time machine.
