Ok everyone saying it's a trash thread...
Reminder: Strome was NOT in warmups for this game. Kaapo was penciled in on the second line.

Strome selfishly put himself before the team and surprised the coaching staff by saying I am ready to go when it was very obvious he was not.

Yes it's one split second decision that will not define his time here for the record I have been pro-strome for nearly all of his tenure, great guy in interviews and clearly a cerebral player but let's not act like this is some sort of surprise, the writing has been on the wall for some time now.

This is so painful because that right there was just about the ideal lineup. I’d prefer Brodzinski over Rooney but that’s it. I was PUMPED to see that was what we were icing. The we got what we got.

At least we didn’t have to see Strome for all three periods. Small victories.

Please chase the money to Seattle or Buffalo or Ottawa Stromer.

Tough ending for Strome. Won't get credit for playing hurt. I'm one of the few who would have liked to see him stay, and feel he's been way underappreciated by the fan base, but they can't afford him or Copp anymore. Both players with Panarin were scorching hot going into the playoffs. Fizzled out, which surprised me but have to make adjustments on the results. Can't tie up that kind of money in either of those guys past next season anymore. When Lafreniere or Miller are due next summer, we need to make sure we have enough to long term those guys. No 2-3 years bridge deals. Go long baby. Might mean a step back in overall team success next year, however at this time it feels like the right thing to do.

It only makes sense that a Panarin-style kick is the farewell.

Stome is what he is.

A tweezer who caught fire with what used to be an elite player who is allergic to scoring on empty nets.

Congrats to him on the bag he’s about to land this summer. The team that gives it to him will regret it but good for hims

Strome was a warrior for the team. Stepped up after the Wilson incident, shouldnt have been allowed to dress but put his health on the line last two games.

Nothing but respect for him and wish him success if he goes out west.

lol at blaming strome
No one’s blaming him for our season ending . He just sucks

You guys are too much. He was out there playing through injury. Not the time to show your hate.
Dude is trash though , he has zero compete

God, some of the anti-Strome sentiment on a team that just went to the ECF is f***ing gross.

F*** this shitty thread.

I don't want the guy re-signed, and I really would be pissed if we kept him, but show some f***ing class. The guy played his ass off, here, and really showed a lot of heart. His teammates loved and respected him.
That’s all well and good , but the dude sucks at hockey .

Goodbye Strome & Copp & baron & the #1
Rangers are in trouble again .
we shall see about Barron but the only one that really counts out of those 4 assets is Copp. If he can't play center you're right he will be gone as well.

Hope you guys realize we do need to replace his spot on the roster.

Ryan Strome is a top 6 forward, and losing him weakens the club.

Not worth a long term extension, but that doesn't change the fact that our roster on opening night will likely be weaker than the one we've iced this playoffs.

Kravtsov, Blais, Letunov, Cuylle, Othmann, etc.

Unless I'm mistaken, Leutunov is AHL fodder.

We don't have much in the way of centers. It's going to cost cap space or assets to replace Strome.

Maybe we sign Copp.

Ryan Strome at his cap hit the last 2 seasons was an absolute bargain because there was no long term commitment there. Copp is going to take a long term commitment.

Rangers fans: "how great would it be if Vally joined our front office"

Vally: "The most underrated part of the power play is Strome's puck retrieval and ability to be a pressure release as a right handed shot in the bumper position."

I meant Rydahl not Letunov, big Swede we signed who is going to be 28 in September.

Did he really say that?

Never liked Strome on the PP. For the longest time they had him on the right boards opposite of Panarin on the left. Infuriating.
