The Bruins will be off on Sunday and return to practice on Monday in Brighton, ahead of Tuesday’s visit to Causeway Street by the Panthers. Marchand, the new Florida left wing, working his way back from a shoulder injury suffered last Saturday in Pittsburgh, is expected to be sidelined another 3-4 weeks. However, it’s possible the L’il Ball o’Hate will be at the Garden with his new club, if only to continue treatment on his wounded wing.

Brad Marchand still has something to say.

The former Bruins captain took out a full-page advertisement in the Monday, March 10 edition of the Boston Globe thanking fans in Boston after he was shipped to Florida at the trade deadline on Friday.

His letter reads:
“To Boston,

“Thank you for welcoming me into this great city when I was just a young Canadian kid looking to break into the best league in the world. You allowed me to achieve my dream of playing in the National Hockey League and winning the Stanley Cup. For this I am forever grateful. You also embraced me from day one and immediately brought me into your family. Since that time, I have become a husband and a father to a beautiful family. My family is now your family: We are Bostonians now and forever.

“Representing this city as captain of the Boston Bruins was the greatest honor of my life, and it was a privilege to wear the Spoked B over the past 16 years. Boston will always be a part of me, and it will always be a part of my family. There are far too many people I want to thank to be able to include in this short note, but just know how grateful I am for the time I spent in Boston playing for the Bruins.

“Thank you.”

Sounds like to me, he's saying. To be continued, "Part two on its way next season"

We saw Brad since he first showed up as a Bruin. I thought in 2010...a 4th liner with lots of energy and mischief....boy did I underestimate him.

Always the last off the ice.

Always threw a few pucks over the glass for kids. Little girls would get the pucks first (Brad has two of his own).

Worked harder than ANY player on the Bs in my 72 years. He gave 100% every shift.

Was Bergy's personal protecter.

Brad was an excellent captain. We saw it on the bench and on the ice and someone who would know, told me he "had the room"

Was very emotional. Wasn't afraid to shed a few tears.

Fun to listen too. Over the years we saw and heard a lot. Brad is a funny man.

I could go on and on but I hope the story isn't over and he returns to the Bs

I will leave you with this.

His wife posted an IG story with B&W portraits of their kids last week before the trade. His one daughter looked exactly like Brad.

Marchand per Eliot Friedman said he was offered 3 years without a pay cut ~ $6.3 M per believed

Bruins going 3 not smart & the amount is not $2 or $3 M as twitter took to streets

7 M fair but not outrageous $6.3 especially giving him 3 years

If this is true on Friedman interesting
