He's a really smart player with immense hockey sense and very good puck skills. That usually bodes well for an NHL player.
If he put on some muscle, he'd be a force to be reckoned with. Much of what is said about TTs game now was said about Kaner when he first came into the league. It only took one off-season of weight training for Kaner to grow into a respectable NHL frame.
The looming question about TT is whether or not he can become mentally tough enough to stop shying away from contact. If he makes that adjustment without a frame to support it, he'll be injured all the time. He doesn't always keep his head up like he should. If he puts on an NHL frame and doesn't make the mental adjustment, well, he's the same player he is now.
Don't give up on him yet Carolina. He's a great player with a few glaring problems. Get rid of those problems, and you've got Patty Kane-lite.
