But his path woulda missed the goalie were it not for the interference of the opponent. If you push a dude into your own goalie, good goal. There, I just saved us so many f***in dumb arguments. Goal scoring is up, Gary is anachronistic, goddammit this league sucks.

I would have no problem with this rule, if this was a rule, which is not the case ATM.

Holloway chose a path that would take him through the blue paint regardless of what Hughes did or didn't do. Any time a player makes that choice, there's a significant chance they'll get called for goalie interference in the event of a goal.

Holloway could have chosen a different path. I think the refs rightly recognized that the shoves from Quinn were largely inconsequential to the determination of interference.

If Blues' fans want to be upset at someone, go after Montgomery for making such a questionable challenge. His poor decision led to the Canucks scoring a PP goal to expand their lead.
