What happened to that older lady they used to show all the time in the balcony who wore a practice jersey with about a thousand pins on it?

She was in those commercials after the lockout begging fans to come back.

Does she still go to the games?

I wonder what she thinks of this.

ha.
I remember seeing a special on her once.
I think she bought one of Neelys old mouthpeices. Nasty. no joke.

wonder if she tossed it away.

It's a business - sad that Claude is gone but excited to (hopefully) see a new brand of hockey. I've been a B's fan for all 24 years of my life, and almost half of that has been spent watching Julien as the coach. It's certainly exciting to see something new for the first time in a while.

The timing - whatever. Patriot's parade means nothing to me so it doesn't effect me, I can sympathize with those who are upset though.

Anything is possible just hope, they don't move some prospects or draft picks for a rental player.

I just think they'll make it because the other teams around them just aren't that good and will have a tough schedule. a lot of games.

Do I think it was the right move? Not sure, we'll have to wait and see.

One thing I know is they finally started taking that **** instead of sitting there on the pot doing nothing.

I'm very curious to see how the players react to this in their play, and how they support Butch going forward. Hopefully this will shake some things up.

If they go ahead at the deadline and try to be rental buyers, that may really **** me off.

Anything involving the loss of Pasta, I'm gone with him unless we absolutely annihilate the deal.

Excited for the first time since pasta and Spooner got called up. Though I'm worried what's going to happen at the deadline.

I am glad you're excited...

... but what?

I am so disappointed in what has happened to the bruins.

To think we had #2 overall and #9 overall as gifts for Kessel and couldnt even extend our stay in the penthouse of the NHL.

So many poor choices, and so many resources squandered.

I want them to do well, honest I do - but I also want another championship in my lifetime - and that's NOT going to happen the way its going down. We need a talent injection in every position.

1. I didn't care for how Claude was treated, but at the end of the day, it's professional sports and this sort of thing happens- to some nice guys and to some not so nice guys. Whatever at this point.

2. Excited (too strong? Interested maybe?) to see what Cassidy can bring to the team and to see if any of the underperformers get a fire lit under their arses.

3. I am a Sweeney fan, and as much of his vision as he articulated (could do better here) I support. Love the prospects we have- less excited by some of the signings he's made, but feel that few were truly bad from the standpoint that I couldn't see the point in doing it or the reasoning behind it.

4. Still watch every game (DVR baby :yo:) and don't see that changing any time soon. Champs or Crap, they've been my team since I was a small kid in NH in the early 70s and so I will always support even when I don't like the state of the club.

5. I refuse to give the Northstars, sorry the Stars, $100 a seat for a nosebleed crap view when the B's come to town :shakehead

Certainly not happy about the following things;

1. Thought they should have sold at the deadline last year -- at the time I said it and hindsight clearly proved that moving Loui and others and not "buying" Stemp and Liles would have been the best move.

2. While I liked and appreciated Claude, I understand why he was fired....I am, however, truly disgusted by the gutless way it was carried out.

3. I'm split on Sweeney --- very happy with the drafting/prospects but very suspect of his management of things on the "professional" side of the roster. See #1 above, plus, there is no need for McQuaid AND Miller --- they are pretty much the same guy. And at this point, if at least 3 of Liles, Moore, Hayes, Nash, Miller, McQuaid, Beleskey, aren't moved at the deadline, it's concerning. I'm not saying move them because they are valuable and will bring back a ton of quality --- I'm saying move them to get some more cap relief and because there have to be younger options that can do the same job and we need to see what they've got for the future.

4. On the positive side of things --- the prospect pool seems promising and while I don't know the ins and outs of the cap very well, it seems like they have some flexibility going forward. Utilizing this cap space well is the key, along with a sound trade or two. If they could add a Gagner or Handzal, make a deal for a legit 2/3 defenseman (hopefully using Spooner & futures), add a quality back up goaltender and then integrate McEvoy/Bjork/JFK - hopefully next year, this team could be much improved.

Thinking ahead (without concerning myself with cap #'s right now) this team could be okay with some reasonable moves.

Marchand - Bergy - Backes

Vatrano/Spooner - Krejci - Pasta

Bjork/Beleskey - Handzal/Gagner - Cehlarik/Czarnik

Schaller - JFK - Cehlarik/Czarnik

(Trade Acquisition) - Carlo
Chara - Krug
McEvoy - McQuaid/Miller

Lastly.......find a way -- either through personnel or structure, find a way to improve the power play. While it has been decent lately....it definitely cost them points in the first 1/3 of the season.

Why Claude was not dismissed after the way we missed the playoffs last year I will never understand.

Cam brings nothing but trouble. His role is listen to Charlie whimper and then he yells at Don. Ask yourself this question - Could Cam Neely get another job in the NHL if the Bruins fired him? I doubt it. At best he would wind up doing TV somewhere.

For me, the passion for the team is gone, and they are merely background entertinament during a weekend night out with my wife... something to do on A friday or Saturday night and background television noise during the weeknight.

the management team sucked out every bit of emotion and integrity this franchise built up over the recent years.

an embarrassing and historical dismantling of a championship caliber franchise

I don't think Cam has a prayer of getting a job in the NHL with another team.

Just based on his performance thus far, I would be shocked if Sweeney was ever considered for a GM job again. But he has areas of strength so I can easily see him working at a different level than GM, with another team.

Just like in life, a sports team will go through different phases: Rebuild, growth, ascension, plateau, decline. If you live long enough, you get to see the whole cycle repeat itself. Sometimes the cycle is quick. Sometimes it takes time. Sometimes the plateau is long and sometimes the decline is short, leading to a quick death.

I've lived long enough to see my favorites growing up come and go. I've lived thru the heartache of the 90's Stanley Cup runs, the injuries to Neely, Bourque's trade, the doldrums of the mid 90's teams, the forming of a young nucleus in Allison, Samsonav, Thornton, McLaren and the rise to respectability heading into the 21st century only to see the implosion just a few years in. I've lived long enough to see the rebuild of the Cup teams and the ups and downs that got to that point: The Savard and Bergeron injuries, the triumph of overcoming Montreal in the playoffs twice in three years, the heartaches of the 09 and 10 playoffs and feeling of despair that followed both runs, the jubilation of watching the last true Big, Bad Bruins team using sheer will to intimidate their way to a Stanley Cup victory.

My point to all of this is it's ok to lose hope. Sports teams ( and life ) tends to break us that way. But don't ever give up: before you know it, the cycle will repeat itself again.

If him or Sweeney got fired I don't think either would. Cam wouldn't be hired in any role, Sweeney maybe would get a job but would not be GM.

And that's what pisses me off about this organization is the nepotism. They went right back to their old ways of doing things and sabotaged their own success. They were set up so well, it still bothers me.

I can handle not being a great team, I could handle a rebuild but I just find it intolerable when I can't stand the organization and that is where I am.

I don't like Charlie being more involved and as far as I am concerned he has botched everything including every press conference he has participated in since he was elevated in Jan. 2015. I don't like Cam in his role. Trying to like Sweeney even though I didn't want him to begin with, and my efforts are not going that well given the roster moves he has made. I was a Claude supporter but I do understand the firing, they did it in a chicken**** and makes them look worse than if they had just chose a normal moment to do it, nobody really would have questioned the move that much, it was overdue if anything.

I've watched maybe 2 or 3 Bruins games this year, haven't seen a minute of Bruins hockey in more than a month so that is where I am at with this organization right now.

I'm fairly indifferent and apathetic. I wasn't surprised to see Julien go. i thought the team needed a change since last season. I do believe he's one of the top 5 coaches in the league, but every message, and style gets stale after a while.

However, this team has so many holes I don't believe a coaching change can fix, unless Cassidy chooses to scratch many of the players I feel Julien (wrongly) gave playing time to.

The one game I will care about is the game I going to in march and hope they don't lay an egg. But I kinda surprised DS taking about his team now going younger.
but please don't trade that young Depth that you finally have.

They went west and lost 3 straight to San Jose, Anaheim and LA. Came back and lost in NY to the Rangers and at home to Florida. All much better teams than the B's. That 5 game stretch killed them. Of course, losing a point to the Hurricanes after that didn't help. But they still could have gotten in with a point in the last game of the season. But the star goalie was sick and the team choked in his absence, losing 6-1. Not sure how that is on the coach.

The lack of hitting and intensity has really made hockey boring to watch. There isn't enough action. Less hitting, no fighting, little scoring. The goalies are so big that you hardly ever see flashy saves anymore.

The icing on the cake to me are the stupid offside reviews. You may get 5 goals in a game if you are lucky and two are bound to be reviewed for offsides. It drives me up a wall and makes me loathe the idiots who are running this league into the ground.

I am frustrated and disappointed. I have been a fan for 40+ years and really want to see another Stanley Cup in my lifetime. I will always watch the games and pay for service to see them since I am in Ontario. That part I am grateful for....before games were on-line, seeing a Bruins game was fairly rare.

I will always stay optimistic that things will get better.
