The Avalanche are gearing into playoff mode with two games left, just falling short in a 2-1 overtime loss to the Oilers, but got a massive point that puts them in control of their own destiny to win the Central Division. The defensive details were all there, Georgiev had a great night, the Avs limited McDavid and Draisaitl, but just couldn't get enough offense to finish the job. With reinforcements on their way next week, are the Avs doing the right things heading into the playoffs. Also, it's becoming clear that Landeskog won't be ready for Game 1, maybe not even Round 1. Will he play in the playoffs at all?

The regular season has come to a close for the Avalanche by winning the Central division. However, the division title has a massive damper put on it with the announcement that Gabriel Landeskog will not be back for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, leaving the Avalanche without their captain. Still however, the Avalanche must march forward and take on the Seattle Kraken in Round 1 all the same. Finally, the guys give their awards ballots for all the end of season awards, with a couple of out of left field picks. Can the Avs take home any awards?

Our favorite guest, Alex 'Raj' Rajaniemi joins the show once again to look at the Avalanche's regular season, and look ahead to the upcoming playoff series against the Seattle Kraken as well as the ensuing Stanley Cup Playoff run. What threats can the Kraken bring to the series? Can the Avalanche make it back to the Stanley Cup Final without captain Gabe Landeskog? Who's could their opponent be on the other side if they make it that far. Finally, the guys go through every series of the First Round and give their predictions, and for once they don't agree on everything!

It's the final episode before Game 1 of the playoffs, and it's time to do a full in-depth deep dive on the Avalanche's first round series with the Seattle Kraken. Jeff Januszek and Joey Cirilo from The Kraken Pod join the show to give their perspective of the Seattle Kraken coming into this series against the Avalanche, and how they feel about Seattle's chances. What is the most dangerous part of this Kraken team? Who on the Kraken should we keep an eye on in this series? How do they plan to deal with MacKinnon, Rantanen and Makar? Are the Kraken going to feel any pressure considering they've already made the playoffs in year two? One things is clear though, this will be a fascinating series from start to finish.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs have begun, but the Avalanche might've missed the memo. Colorado loses Game 1 to the Seattle Kraken 3-1 in what was far from their best performance. Intensity and execution were lacking across the board, and the depth was simply not effective whatsoever. Still, it's only Game 1, and there's a lot of series still left to play if the Avs can clean up their mistakes and revert back to the playoff form we've been accustomed to over the years. What adjustments can the Avalanche make for Game 2? Can they bounce back and tie up this series before heading to Seattle?

There is truly nothing like the emotional roller coaster of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Avalanche beat the Kraken 3-2 to tie the series at one heading to Seattle, completing the comeback after falling behind 2-0 in what was absolutely some of the worst hockey this team has ever played in the first period. Finally after four periods, the defending champions showed up to play and stopped handing it to the Kraken. What changed between the first and second period? With this series now shifting to Seattle all tied up, what can we expect from the Avs on the road where they have been better this season? Have they finally figured it out?

The Avalanche's star players showed up big time and led the Avs to a huge 6-4 win over the Seattle Kraken in Game 3, giving them a 2-1 series lead and ruining Seattle's first playoff game in over 100 years. The Kraken had no answer for the Avs star power. Nathan MacKinnon disrespected the Kraken several times over, and finally broke through for two goals. Mikko Rantanen finished the night with three points, and Cale Makar was dancing all night long. Can the Avs star power continue to distance themselves from the Kraken, and put them into position to wrap this series up with a 3-1 series lead in Game 5?

We've got a series folks. The Avalanche lose Game 4 against the Seattle Kraken 3-2 in overtime, and once again don't put out their best performance as the series is tied heading back to Denver for Game 5. The starts have been a massive problem for the Avs, and they once again fell behind early, which cannot continue as this series persists. Mikko Rantanen singlehandedly tied the game with two goals, but the Kraken largely neutralized the Avs star power as the depth could not find a response. As the series shifts back to Colorado for Game 5, are the Avalanche going to be able to adjust and break through the Kraken forecheck?

The Avalanche season will be on the line on Friday in Game 6 following a 3-2 loss to the Seattle Kraken in Game 5. It's just not good enough, the Avs are not doing enough to get the job done. Game 5 hardly felt like a playoff game at all, and the intensity was entirely lacking as the Avalanche stars once again had to try to do everything themselves with unsustainable ice times. Cale Makar was suspended for this game, taking another important player out of the lineup. Do the Avs have it in them to force a Game 7?

The two best words in hockey, Game 7. The Avalanche dominate Game 6 in Seattle with a 4-1 win and force a winner take all Game 7 back in Denver. This is the Avs hockey we've been waiting for all series long, and there were no passengers from start to finish in their best effort of the series. However, the Department of Player Safety allowed Jordan Eberle to get away with fracturing Andrew Cogliano's neck, who is now out indefinety while Eberle will be allowed to play in Game 7. But now, it all comes to down to a winner take all, and the Avalanche have proved they can handle the Kraken so long as they play their best. Can they do it one more time, and advance to Round 2 for a matchup with the Dallas Stars?

The Avalanche's season has come to an end as they lose Game 7 to the Seattle Kraken 2-1. It was far from a bad game for the Avs, but the bounces went against them, and they waited too long in the series to show up to blame bad luck. While this season has come to close, this was a long and exhausting season from start to finish full of injuries and adversity, and it's hard to walk away from this season to negative given everything that's happened. The guys give their thoughts on what's been an incredible journey over the last year, and what's next for the Avalanche in what will be an offseason full of questions.

As the Avs offseason is still in the early stages, Cale Makar has been nominated for the Norris Trophy for the third straight season, does he have a chance at actually winning the thing after the season Erik Karlsson had? It's finally time for the Connor Bedard draft lottery, will the lottery balls keep him out of the Central Division and out of the Avs hair for the foreseeable future? Finally, the full playoff update. Is Seattle actually just really good, and are the Maple Leafs really pathetic enough to get swept after finally winning a round?

The Avalanche will be without Gabe Landeskog for the entire 2023-24 season, after Landeskog underwent cartilage replacement surgery to deal with the injury that kept him out of last season. Can the Avalanche still compete without their captain again next season? Can they build a more complete team with that $7M opened up for the season? Also, some reports on Bo Byram's potential next contract have surfaced, what could the contracts for him and Alex Newhook look like this offseason? Finally, the Chicago Blackhawks won the draft lottery and the right to select Connor Bedard in the draft next month, putting the league's failure to punish them for their treatment of Kyle Beach on full display.

The Avalanche have a bunch of upcoming unrestricted free agents this offseason, including several important key players from last season. Which Avs UFAs will be back next year, and which ones would be better off walking in free agency? Also, looking at the Stanley Cup Playoffs as the second round begins to wrap up. Is it time for the Maple Leafs to blow it up after another disappointing exit? Also, it's time to end the narrative that a Carolina/Florida Conference Final is bad for the league.

Avalanche news may be lacking, but the NHL . The Coyotes time in Arizona may be coming to a close falling the failed vote to approve the arena plan in Tempe, leaving them with very few options as relocation now becomes a far more realistic option with almost nowhere else to go. The Stanley Cup Playoffs still march on, and the Conference Finals are set with two razor close series. Can Florida continue their unlikely run against the machine of the Hurricanes? Is there any way that both Vegas and Dallas can lose in the Western Conference Final? Also, what's this about William Nylander being connected to the Avalanche?

For the first time in show history, the Tell It Avs It Is Mailbag is open! Answering listener questions ranging from second line center, a hypothetical XHL league, and the Nordiques. But first, the Conference Finals through two games have been outstanding with all four games going to overtime. Both the Panthers and Golden Knights are up 2-0, but can either Dallas or Carolina mount a comeback? Are there any lessons the Avs can learn from these final four teams heading into next season?

Second line center is one of the main points of focus for the Avalanche this offseason in order to get back to Stanley Cup contention, so how could they be planning to address it? Who are some center options for the Avalanche on trade market and the free agent market? What would the Avs have to give up for a second line center in a trade? Are there even any good center options on the UFA market? Elias Lindholm, please? Also, the Panthers are on the Stanley Cup Final, and Stars completely collapsed in Game 3 after being abandoned by Jamie Benn. Will Vegas sweep and wrap this series up?

Saturday marked the one year anniversary of the Avalanche advancing to the Western Conference Final, and the now famous game winner by Darren Helm with 5.6 seconds to go. The guys reminisce on last years historic Stanley Cup run as the one year anniversary creeps closer, and as this seasons Western Conference Final rages on following Dallas wining two in a row to extend the series. Is Vegas going to blow a 3-0 lead? Finally, some more mailbag questions. What does Alex Newhook need to do next season? If Toews is asking for too much, do you have to explore a trade? What Central team is the Avs biggest threat for the foreseeable future?

The offseason marches on, and it's time to start getting creative. The guys draft their best Avalanche team of all time, and with only a few rules. Two forward lines, two defense pairs, and two goalies. Also no Nordiques players, and most importantly, no time to prepare beforehand. Go vote on Twitter on who drafted the better team! But first, the Stanley Cup Final gets underway in Vegas. The Vegas Golden Knights defeat the Florida Panthers in Game 1 by a score of 5-2 to set the tone in the series. Can the Panthers answer back before taking the series home to Florida?

The Stanley Cup Final marches on, and might be coming to an early close following Vegas's domination of the Panthers in Game 2 to take a commanding 2-0 series lead heading to Florida. Is there anything Floirda can do to slow down this relentless Golden Knights squad? In Avs news, Colorado Eagles head coach Greg Cronin is hired to be the next head coach of the Anaheim Ducks, leaving a big vacancy at the AHL level. What's the plan to replace Cronin? The NHL trade train got rolling for the first time this offseason with a big three way trade, showing how creative the Avs are going to have to be this offseason. Finally, does the Gavrikov signing in Los Angeles have any impact on the eventual Devon Toews conversations?

The Panthers are back in the Stanley Cup Final with an OT win in Game 3 over the Golden Knights (recorded before Game 4), but did they do enough to swing this series in their favor (spoiler, they did not). Pierre-Luc Dubois has requested a trade from the Winnipeg Jets, and reportedly wants HOW much money on his next contract? Has he lost his mind? The Blue Jackets continue to make moves, with a sign and trade for Damon Severson that is... expensive. Is it contract that can be used in the eventual Devon Toews negotiations?

In one of the trades of all time, the Avalanche acquired Fredeik Olofsson from the Dallas Stars in exchange for the hefty price of future considerations. Jokes aside, is there any reason to put expectations on Olofsson to be anything with the Avalanche? A few moves have been made this offseason, but it feels everything is on the verge of blowing up with the draft less than two weeks away. What will Avalanche do with that 27th overall pick? Keep it? Trade back? Trade it for a player, perhaps one like Yegor Sharangovich?
