The Avalache are still rolling, and making trades before the coming trade deadline. Jack Johnson is coming back home to Colorado after being traded for Andreas Englund, but is this the right move to make for the Avs defensive depth? Was it really necessary to move Englund to bring Johnson back? Next, Keith Kinkaid was traded for Shane Bowers to give the Avs some more insurance at goalie. But most importantly, the Avalanche are playing some of their best hockey of the season with dominant victories over the Winnipeg Jets and Calgary Flames, and have already knocking on the door for the lead in the West without Cale Makar and Gabe Landeskog in the lineup. Can they keep it up against Vegas and New Jersey this week?

The trade deadline has been insane over the last several days, and the Avalanche have made of their own, acquiring Lars Eller from the Washington Capitals for a 2025 second round pick. Is Eller a good fit for the Avalanche in their bottom six? In the games, the Avalanche took down the Vegas Golden Knights 3-0 in a near perfect game, but got sloppy in a drunk 7-5 loss to the New Jersey Devils. Can they recover and take down Dallas in another massive game?

The Avalanche have had a tough last few days. First, the Avs came up empty before the trade deadline and did not add any other pieces for the rest of the season, but is this really a bad thing when the right fit might not have been there? Less optimistically, the Avs got absolutely crushed in a huge game against Dallas with a 7-3 loss, with very few positives to spin out of such a poor performance. The next day, the Avs had a late lead against the Kraken, but couldn't hold on late and give up a valuable point in OT. After playing perfect hockey so recently, what's the deal here? Can the Avs shake this off as their schedule for the rest of the season lightens up?

The Avalanche took care of business and absolutely handled the San Jose Sharks with a 6-0 win to snap their three game losing streak, and did it with one of the most dominant performances you'll ever see, outshooting the Sharks 43-13 and running them out of the building early on. Now the Avs had their get right game, can they keep it up in a tough matchup at home against the Los Angeles Kings? Also, it's time to have the conversation about Gabe Landeskog, will he be back this season?

The Avs are struggling with inconsistency, and Griffin is struggling with a cold while Christian carries the show. The Avs motivation questions surface against the Los Angeles Kings in a 5-2 loss, and the attention to detail just isn't there from players who we all know know better. However, the Avs survived a scare against from Connor Ingram and the Arizona Coyotes with a 3-2 overtime win, where they didn't allow a single shot in the third period. Can the Avs just flip the when the playoff stars. Also, is Bally Sports and other regional sports networks dying out a good thing for the sport, and hopefully lead to less blackouts?

Two wins for the Avalanche in Canada over the Canadiens and Maple Leafs has the Avs on a three game winning streak, balancing a perfect offensive performance against the Habs with an 8-4 win, and a perfect defensive performance with a 2-1 shootout win over Toronto. However, with Artturi Lehkonen breaking his finger and likely going to miss the rest of the regular season, can Denis Malgin and Alex Galchenyuk keep the Avs depth afloat until the playoffs? The guys also react live to the almost fight between Jordan Binnington and Marc-Andre Fleury, and talk about some of their most heartbreaking moments of their lives watching sports.

The Avs sweep their four game eastern road trip, holding off a pesky Ottawa Senators team with a 5-4 win, topped with an incredible save by Jonas Johansson in the closing seconds to the preserve the lead, and Lars Eller's first goal with the team in bizarre fashion holding up as the game winning goal. A few days later in Detroit, the Avs took care of business as MacKinnon hit thirty goals and Rantanen moved a step closer to 50 goals with his 46th. How many goals will Rantanen score before the end of the year, and can MacKinnon finally hit that evasive 100 point mark? Even with the Stars and Wild playing well, can the Avs continue to play good hockey and catch them before the season ends to win the Central?

The Avalanche six game winning streak was snapped against the Pittsburgh Penguins with a 5-2 loss, in an uncharacteristically sloppy game, complete with the perfect mix of poor officiating and poor discipline that cost them big time. Without Cale Makar, the Avalanche have struggled, which is a big reason why 60% of NHL players named him the best defenseman in the NHL. However the Avalanche made life easy for themselves in a 5-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks earlier in the week, but lost Evan Rodrigues in process due to a concussion. In good news, Jared Bednar gets a three year extension, keeping the NHL's best coach in Colorado for the foreseeable future. Finally, the NHL inks a 10 year deal with Fanatics, how big of a disaster is this going to be?

The Avalanche took care of the Arizona Coyotes two games in a row, in the usual slog fest that ended up a little closer than it needed to be. Cale Makar and Erik Johnson made their return to the lineup in Friday's matchup, and Makar once again showed himself to be the best defenseman in the NHL, and dominated Arizona en route to a 3-1 win. In the rematch, the Avalanche had to survive a third period collapse as the Coyotes dragged the game to a shootout, going a full seven rounds without a goal before Nichushkin's nasty hands ended the game for a 4-3 shootout win. With the Avs well positioned in the Central division race, can they down Minnesota on Wednesday and take the division lead?

The Avalanche blew their chance to take first in the division when they took on Minnesota at Ball Arena, dropping their biggest game of the season 4-2 to give the Wild a three point in the Central. The game was full of sloppiness and mistakes that gave the Wild the chances they need to win, and Bednar was not happy post-game. What can we draw from this game as the playoffs draw near? However, the Avs did beat the Ducks 5-1 earlier in the week with a a very simple and academic win. Can the Avs bounce back and beat the Dallas Stars on Saturday and stay in the fight for the division?

After losing control of their destiny on Wednesday against Minnesota, the Avalanche have suddenly taken it right back again with a 5-2 win over the Dallas Stars, and Minnesota losing to the Golden Knights on the same night. In their win over the Stars, the Avalanche took care of business and had a fantastic bounce back, shutting down Dallas early and putting the game away when they needed to. Can they take advantage and still win the Central? Also, two more college players have been signed as the Avs slowly replenish their prospect pool.

The Avalanche finally claimed first in the Central division with a 4-3 overtime victory over the San Jose Sharks, and officially clinched a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Also, Nathan MacKinnon FINALLY hit 100 points for the first time his career on the overtime winner, and at last joins the 100 point club after so many interruptions getting in the way. Rantanen is still pushing for 50 goals, but came remarkable close against San Jose. Is it better to rest Cale Makar down the stretch and make sure he's completely healthy before the playoffs, even with the division at stake?

The Avalanche won all three games of California road trip, and hit a ton of milestones on the way, even if it wasn't all smooth sailing. Mikko Rantanen finally hit 50 goals, and put a hat trick on the San Jose Sharks before finally joining MacKinnon at 100 points later in the week. In Los Angeles, the Avalanche absolutely stole a game from the Kings thanks to Georgiev and the depth. Finally, they salvaged a win against the Ducks after a third period comeback, and hold the lead in the Central division as the regular season winds down. As we get close to the playoffs though, is there even a favorable matchup for the Avs? Is Gabe Landeskog going to be back for the playoffs at all?

The Avalanche are gearing into playoff mode with two games left, just falling short in a 2-1 overtime loss to the Oilers, but got a massive point that puts them in control of their own destiny to win the Central Division. The defensive details were all there, Georgiev had a great night, the Avs limited McDavid and Draisaitl, but just couldn't get enough offense to finish the job. With reinforcements on their way next week, are the Avs doing the right things heading into the playoffs. Also, it's becoming clear that Landeskog won't be ready for Game 1, maybe not even Round 1. Will he play in the playoffs at all?

The regular season has come to a close for the Avalanche by winning the Central division. However, the division title has a massive damper put on it with the announcement that Gabriel Landeskog will not be back for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, leaving the Avalanche without their captain. Still however, the Avalanche must march forward and take on the Seattle Kraken in Round 1 all the same. Finally, the guys give their awards ballots for all the end of season awards, with a couple of out of left field picks. Can the Avs take home any awards?

Our favorite guest, Alex 'Raj' Rajaniemi joins the show once again to look at the Avalanche's regular season, and look ahead to the upcoming playoff series against the Seattle Kraken as well as the ensuing Stanley Cup Playoff run. It's the final episode before Game 1 of the playoffs, and it's time to do a full in-depth deep dive on the Avalanche's first round series with the Seattle Kraken. Jeff Januszek and Joey Cirilo from The Kraken Pod join the show to give their perspective of the Seattle Kraken coming into this series against the Avalanche, and how they feel about Seattle's chances. What is the most dangerous part of this Kraken team? Who on the Kraken should we keep an eye on in this series? How do they plan to deal with MacKinnon, Rantanen and Makar? Are the Kraken going to feel any pressure considering they've already made the playoffs in year two? One things is clear though, this will be a fascinating series from start to finish.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs have begun, but the Avalanche might've missed the memo. Colorado loses Game 1 to the Seattle Kraken 3-1 in what was far from their best performance. Intensity and execution were lacking across the board, and the depth was simply not effective whatsoever. Still, it's only Game 1, and there's a lot of series still left to play if the Avs can clean up their mistakes and revert back to the playoff form we've been accustomed to over the years. What adjustments can the Avalanche make for Game 2? Can they bounce back and tie up this series before heading to Seattle?

There is truly nothing like the emotional roller coaster of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Avalanche beat the Kraken 3-2 to tie the series at one heading to Seattle, completing the comeback after falling behind 2-0 in what was absolutely some of the worst hockey this team has ever played in the first period. Finally after four periods, the defending champions showed up to play and stopped handing it to the Kraken. What changed between the first and second period? With this series now shifting to Seattle all tied up, what can we expect from the Avs on the road where they have been better this season? Have they finally figured it out?

The Avalanche's star players showed up big time and led the Avs to a huge 6-4 win over the Seattle Kraken in Game 3, giving them a 2-1 series lead and ruining Seattle's first playoff game in over 100 years. The Kraken had no answer for the Avs star power. Nathan MacKinnon disrespected the Kraken several times over, and finally broke through for two goals. Mikko Rantanen finished the night with three points, and Cale Makar was dancing all night long. Can the Avs star power continue to distance themselves from the Kraken, and put them into position to wrap this series up with a 3-1 series lead in Game 5?

We've got a series folks. The Avalanche lose Game 4 against the Seattle Kraken 3-2 in overtime, and once again don't put out their best performance as the series is tied heading back to Denver for Game 5. The starts have been a massive problem for the Avs, and they once again fell behind early, which cannot continue as this series persists. Mikko Rantanen singlehandedly tied the game with two goals, but the Kraken largely neutralized the Avs star power as the depth could not find a response. As the series shifts back to Colorado for Game 5, are the Avalanche going to be able to adjust and break through the Kraken forecheck?

The Avalanche season will be on the line on Friday in Game 6 following a 3-2 loss to the Seattle Kraken in Game 5. It's just not good enough, the Avs are not doing enough to get the job done. Game 5 hardly felt like a playoff game at all, and the intensity was entirely lacking as the Avalanche stars once again had to try to do everything themselves with unsustainable ice times. Cale Makar was suspended for this game, taking another important player out of the lineup. Do the Avs have it in them to force a Game 7?

The two best words in hockey, Game 7. The Avalanche dominate Game 6 in Seattle with a 4-1 win and force a winner take all Game 7 back in Denver. This is the Avs hockey we've been waiting for all series long, and there were no passengers from start to finish in their best effort of the series. However, the Department of Player Safety allowed Jordan Eberle to get away with fracturing Andrew Cogliano's neck, who is now out indefinety while Eberle will be allowed to play in Game 7. But now, it all comes to down to a winner take all, and the Avalanche have proved they can handle the Kraken so long as they play their best. Can they do it one more time, and advance to Round 2 for a matchup with the Dallas Stars?

The Avalanche's season has come to an end as they lose Game 7 to the Seattle Kraken 2-1. It was far from a bad game for the Avs, but the bounces went against them, and they waited too long in the series to show up to blame bad luck. While this season has come to close, this was a long and exhausting season from start to finish full of injuries and adversity, and it's hard to walk away from this season to negative given everything that's happened. The guys give their thoughts on what's been an incredible journey over the last year, and what's next for the Avalanche in what will be an offseason full of questions.
