Isn't Lou all in still? Friedman was just speculating today that he might not even move Nelson if you're in the mix come deadline.

I'd take Pulock though, would fit well with Maurice.
Barzal just went out for the year, Pulock and Dobson out till the deadline, mayfield out probably to the tournament. If Lou still buys god save my liver

I've crunched the numbers. This is cap compliant.

To Chicago:
:hawks
-Spencer Knight
-Eetu Luostarinen or Evan Rodrigues
-Mackie Samoskevich
-the rights to Matvei Shuravin
-Florida 2026 1st round pick

To Florida:
:panthers
-Seth Jones (@10% retention)
-Arvid Soderblom
No f***ing way.
I mean, i guess some teams might be wary of what Florida is going to do if they're looking for a RHD...because how many playoff teams aren't looking for a solid Top-4 RHD? And how many of them are actually out there on the market available? The math doesn't math on that. Supply <<< Demand.

The other element of this i suppose, is potentially that Florida might be looking at a bigger deal for a more "longer-term" solution. If they've decided that they're going to prioritize retaining 19 year old Sam Bennett over Ekblad, and will need someone who can step into those boots down the line a ways. But i don't know that anyone should be all that scared of a bidding war with Florida - they've got jack squat left for real liquid "assets" to move, without sacrificing from their actual current roster.
Wary because Zito is not only a wizard, he also has Jedi mind control skills
He was good in those playoffs but they didn't even come close to the finals and Tippet ended up being a top 6 player. Maybe he doesn't get to that level in Florida, but trading that much for a player who led you to only winning 4 games in the playoffs is not worth it.
hindsight being 20/20, as it always is

Presumably if Florida was interested in Jones the Hawks wouldn't be adding Nazar to dump him. That just doesn't make sense. I dunno if Florida is interested in Jones or not, I'm just saying Nazar would not be on the table.
it’s possible Florida is interested in Jones, but that trade for Florida would be worse than the Hawks trade to get Jones in the first place.

If you want to offload Jones with little to no retention you’d probably be getting a return that’s about half the value of that.

The guy who made the original proposal is a bit controversial on the Hawks board and doesn’t speak for the fanbase, only himself.

Zito has shown to either swing for the fences or find a diamond in the rough. Either way, he'll have to do it with limited cap space.

Friedman with his click bait shit again reporting something but not really reporting anything that still get hits cause you eat what that muppet says
Sir, I am the founder of muppet. You can’t use that word.

We have 3.5 at the deadline. We’ll have even more when he ships out another person

I see Jacob Trouba as the ideal fit here. Maurice got the very best out of him. In Florida he'd probably run the top PP. Real opportunity.

Seems like it would have to be a double retention trade though, given the Panthers Cap space.

Holl comes with bonuses. He can't skate very well, AND he can't move the puck. Also, added bonus, he can't defend. Maybe you can acquire him and park him at the far end of the press box where he can't reach the popcorn.

I really don't want Karlsson. I think his act would wear out quickly in Florida where Maurice stresses defense-first. If it has to be a RD, I'd like Pulock or S.Jones. If we're gonna pay 5M on a 50% retained guy, (which would mean we probably lose Boqvist in FA), I'd rather it be a two-way guy who's younger in Jones. He's also been just as productive as EK this season. Going from a basement dweller to the Panthers might also spark his game a bit .

Except, nothing he said was untrue, but enjoy all that frustration lol
I'm arguing with everyone? You replied to MY post pointing out a bad trade and tried to say, no actually it was a good trade. So you're actually the one arguing.

My point is every GM makes bad trades so the other GMs being afraid of trading with Zito is pathetic if it's true.
Nope, wasn't saying it was "good" at all, was saying that it was a trade that he learned from in a huge way and made the moves needed for the Cup.

I remember reading Trouba owned a condo in Florida prior to the trade to the Rangers. I am not sure what part of Florida or if he still owns the property. Does Florida have good hospitals? His wife's residency in NY is ending soon. The Panthers would be a great fit for Trouba if they can the money to work. There is one more one season remaining on the contract which makes retention more expensive.
