One thing I always like doing when we get near the middle of the season is comparing how the records for all the teams so far this season compares to their records from last season. (using points percentage)

I've put them into this chart. The first column is points percentage from last season, second is points percentage so far from this season, third one is the increase (or decrease) from year to year.

Awesome
I was curious to see what teams points percentage was looking like compared to this time last year and found this site.

This was about the point most teams had played 30-31 games.

Devils definitely on the right track. Their team D play is absurd and a complete 180 from last season.

In the last 4 games they gave up a combined 67 shots

Sens are trending up big time, they finally have a legitimate elite goaltender, Sens have given up an average of 1,28 goals per game the last 7 games, They are finding ways to win games instead of losing them.

Dishonorable mention to Nashville. What happened there?

Seems like too much key personnel turnover destroyed the team chemistry, and perhaps the new pieces aren't actually as good as those they let go.

Otherwise stated, Trotz gambled his paycheck but crapped out and will be spending the rest of the season eating nothing but cold cereal.

Perhaps the better question is why the Preds thought that Trotz would make a good GM. It's somewhat like taking a champion NASCAR driver and deciding that he could be a successful 747 pilot too.

Nashville is the huge outlier at -249; two best are +180, +178. Second worst is Rangers at -178. So… what do they do? Get shutout by Nashville. Sounds right.
