Team that will rise:
Toronto - Seems to be their year. (Still don't get how this far into the season people think Leafs goaltending is poor.. Literally been their best asset all year)

Team that will fall:
Jets - Simply until Hellebuyck and the rest of the new core show they aren't an easy 5 game out in round 1, I need to see it to believe it.

Team that will self destruct:
Panthers - Simply they have not played good hockey this season and won a lot of games on goaltending I don't think is sustainable. With the injuries and Ekblad being out, I think Tampa's forecheck is too much for them and a "cup favorite" is out in 5 games.

I agree with this..... but for Jets you need to see it to believe it, but not the leafs?

Valid. I think there are differences though. The last time the Jets won a 2nd round playoff game was 2017-2018. The core of that team is gone. Also the manner in which they lose. For example, Leafs lost a hard fought injury filled series in game 7 OT last year. Jets were an easy out in 5 games B2B years.

Also for me, the main question is Hellebuyck because he has been a Vezina level goalie to make the Jets look this good but has also been the guy who has let them down the most when it counts. I think compared to the Leafs two goalies, they have shown in their careers they elevate in the post season.

No one really knows anything with this stuff. Just my opinions.

I've heard a couple people say this now, and to them I say, try watching some games lol

Stolarz is our starter and although we operate in a tandem he has looked elite in damn near every game he's played this year

.922 svp, tied for 3rd best in the league
2.28 gaa, 4th best in the league

Lumping our goalies in with Edmonton's is a joke. From goalies who have played at least 20 games, Stolarz ranks #2 in GSAA/60 and Joe Woll is 16th. Same ranking for sv% at 5v5, Stolarz is actually tied with Helle for #1. Both guys are far better than Skinner AINEC.

I feel like Vegas could either go all the way or implode round 1. Their play from their skaters is arguably as good as the year they won the cup. But Hill and Samsonov are just so inconsistent. They'll live or die on how well they can insulate their goalie and how locked in the tender can be.

Pretty disingenuous way to look at things. The leafs have won 1 second round playoff game in the last 20 years, but the Jets having not won one in 7 years is disqualifying? Also, you just arbitrarily set the bar at one second round game. If you go to multiple second round games or making the third round the Jets date stays the same, but the leafs move to pre-cap era

Well tbf the leafs are 13th in NHL in GA/GP, and 7th in the eastern conference of the current playoff teams, only team worse is Montreal.

Thank God Stolarz and Woll have lots of playoff experience.

Goaltending was not the reason why Panthers were winning games.

Dallas has a blue line of Ceci, Lyubushkin and Dumba and Heiskanen is injured, and every team since basically Feb 1st has made us look like a lotto team, so pretty safe to assume we'll fall.
Even with Heiskanen fully healthy, I wouldn't take their blueline over anyone but Montreal.

Must be some reason why you left Woll out of this... Not sure why?

I am aware. There are some outliers, mainly we had Hildebe and Matt Murray both let in 8 goals and are I believe the top team with goals against with an empty net which scews the numbers. When you look at the performance of the team with our actual NHL tandem they are much better.

Also, GA is a bad metric of judging goaltending because there is a lot that goes into goals against
