Is it overly crazy to think Grimaldi would warrant consideration for a 13th spot on an Olympic team? He really plays well in this thing. I know the politics of it all would keep him off but if I were in charge I’d at least consider.

People still talk about Rob Zamuner on the 1998 team and it’s not like it was his fault that Canada lost.

Yes that’s part of what I knew with the politics of it all. One 4-3 loss to Canada and you’ll have people screaming “well of course that happened when you bring an AHL player over [guy who has never showed up to a world championship that had 70 points in the NHL the prior season]”

People love to blame the bottom few roster selections whenever a team loses an international game.

USA is majority NCAA players but announcer was mistaken saying all of them played college hockey.
