Would Sweden deviate much from that if players not invited have a good season ?

Was hoping Filip Eriksson might have a chance.
There's always a chance a player plays himself onto the roster throughout the season, and there's always a real possibility of somebody not being able to play due to injury/illness.

Should note however that there's some real tough competition this year, especially if Carlsson is available.

Elias Pettersson was outstanding at Canuck camp. He would be rock solid for Team Sweden in December.

Here is Thomas Drance of the Athletic talking about him after development camp

Jukka Jalonen should be in all the hall of fames.

he was our worst player in the last wjc
You change more between 18-19 years old than you do between 25-30.

If they get all their players this year they should be favourites.

I had Wahlberg higher up before. But Suzdalev is one year older and more mature. Dont wanna put that pressure on Wahlberg yet.
You've had Wahlberg consistently on the roster since OP in January, do you think he's near a lock to make the roster? Pretty versatile fast/skill/size/snarl kid to slide up and down a tournament lineup.

As a Sabres fan, it's good to see him selected for camp with the 04-05s as the youngest in the group. He could break out big this season if he settles into a good SHL role.

I hope Anders Eriksén takes over the role as the manager next season. He's better than Hävelid. Sure Hävelid won gold with the U18 team but we got dominated the semifinal and final.

Eriksén took the 2005 class to Hlinka gold medal game, he won bronze in a tournament where we faced 1 year older teams, total 15-2 vs Canada and were unbeaten until the gold game. The gold game was a even game vs a dominant USA team.

05 is superior to 04, esp when Leo was injured

04 class is better. Djurgården trio, Bystedt and Carlsson. The defence is also good. Maybe the only thing 05 is superior at is the defence.

Hävelid won gold TWICE in the U18, you dont do that if you are a mediocre coach.

With Eriksén we were the better team vs european teams and were playing even with NA teams during 2022-23, we are just playing better hockey with him. Eriksén not winning gold was a shame but that is hockey.

The 2022 tournament didnt moved me despite the gold medal, we had problem the whole tournament expect vs maybe Germany

Anyway, he started the season great with 7-0 win vs USA. He will have a good team to work with so i wish him all the best

10-1 loss. And this is our best possible squad. Only djurgården trio and Carlsson are missing
EPettersson, Wagner, Stenberg didn't play and Reidler was the goalie. Then you could argue about another D, although A.Johansson has done well.

Idk about you but when 8-9 players are missing from a lineup that seems pretty far from the best possible squad... Not to mention who exactly are missing.
