There's 23 players on the roster, is there going to be another cut ?
There's 8 defensemen, maybe another cut on the blueline?

I'm not surprised, but I'm dissapointed that Lyamin didn't make it. Anybody have any insight as to what's going on with him?

Thanks Kaizer.

Any surprises on the team/not on the team?
Imho, Ezhov and Emelin are surprises at D. I don't understand why Pervyshin was cut.
Among F, there are Galimov, Salnikov and Shirokov. Galimov was good in last games so he could impress coaches with his performance. Shirokov as I read was good at ReMax. I cannot say anything about Salnikov. Notable cuts were Ogorodnikov and K. Makarov.
But Glazachev even wasn't invited to the camp as I know. He played for Sibir yesterday when U-20 team played against Spartak.

He couldn't crack CSKA roster and was bad at ReMax. There is a result, IMO.

With 23 players on the roster (not including the reserves), does there have to be another cut? If so, who would be the most likely one ?

Is this the same Russian coach from last year? If so, he didn't invite Glazachev two years in a row

No, it's not the same coach. Ishmatov was the coach when Russian won the gold in 2002 and 2003.

I haven't seen him play, but i've heard Alexei Emelin plays a style similar to Kasparitis..

Can't wait to see Ovechkin though :)

Nice to see Yunkov on the roster.

I assume he'll be on his typical line again?

Is it a surprise that he made it or what?

I didn't know this guy was in the upper crop of forwards.

Call me crazy, but I think for the first time in about 20 years team Russia has a pretty solid goaltending tandem. The last 2 gold medals Russia had to win with pretty much an empty net, and as a Russia fan, I'm extremely happy to finally have some confidence in my team's goaltending.

Khudobin and Kuznetsov were excellent at the ADT challenge (or at least in the games that I saw) and Khudobin went on and got a shutout or two in the SuperLeague.

Radulov on the other hand i don't know what the hype is all about. I really didn't see much in him during the ADT challenge, and wouldn't be surprised if he tanks it at the WJC. The fact that I read about his selfish attitude doesn't help the cause neither. Shirokov I thought was an excellent player.. really impressed me, but attitude is a problem with him as well I believe. He rubbed it in to the opposing team and the fans after scoring goals, and I really don't like that.
