Russia´s 36-man list have been revealed. I copied this from the finnish website. Names are written in "finnish way" but I guess almost everybody will understand who they are. I was too tired to make a correction. :D

Goalies: Jaroslav Askarov, Aleksandr Samonov (molemmat SKA Pietari), Timur Biljalov (Ak Bars Kazan), Ivan Fedotov (TsSKA Moskova), Dmitri Shugaev (Severstal Tsherepovets).

Defence: Dmitri Vishnevski, Aleksandr Nikishin (molemmat Spartak Moskova), Vjatsheslav Voinov (Dinamo Moskova), Aleksandr Jelesin (Lokomotiv Jaroslavl), Artem Minulin, Jegor Jakovlev (molemmat Metallurg Magnitogorsk), Shakir Mukhamadullin (Salavat Julajev Ufa), Daniil Pjlenkov (SKA Pietari), Nikita Nesterov (TsSKA Moskova), Sergei Telegin (Traktor Tsheljabinsk), Semjon Tshistjakov, Damir Sharipzjanov (molemmat Avangard Omsk).

Nothing is official yet. That roster is based on a news outlet's 'insider information'.

Probably very similar to what it's gonna be though.

Not at all. Be prepared to not see a lot of forwards you named. Also it doesn't make sense to break up chemistry. Shipachyov will center Galiyev. And hopefully Burdasov has no place on the 1st line. Grigorenko will play on the wing.

The list is officially confirmed.

Something like this:

Kuzmenko - Shipachyov - Galiev (Unanimously 1C with his winger from Dynamo reinforced by SKA's top scorer)
Gusev - Karnaukhov - Marchenko (Karnaukhov was always surprisingly great on the NT as compared to his play for CSKA. Creative center with a creative Gusev and a goalscorer in Marchenko)
Gritsyuk - Galimov - Voronkov (Kazan connection reinforced by the best youngster in the league lately)
Chibisov - Kadeykin - Burdasov (All big guys with a lot of scoring punch to them too though)

Semenov, Slepyshev, Kayumov, Tkachyov, Andronov

Would have liked to have seen at least Okulov, Zhafyarov, Tolchinsky, Kamenev, Ozhiganov and Marchenko in camp.
It's a shame Dronov is always injured. This defense needs someone like him badly.

Zhafyarov I get. But not the others. What is this hype about Tolchinskiy? He is not that great.

Simply put, nowhere near.

Forward selections are the only ones that more or less make sense to me though. The goalie situation is pretty sad (which is whatever as long as they don't pick Samonov and Askarov to the final team because SKA things) and whoever picked that defense is just one big joker. I understand they wanted to have a balance between righties and lefties but seriously... Yelesin over Marchenko, for example? What kind of genius does one have to be to make that pick?

Karnaukhov hasn't played center since junior and he has hands of stone, what are you thinking. "Surprisingly great" my ass.

Karnaukhov was, unfortunately, even sometimes a second line center at the last World Championships.
