I don't need the NHL to try an destroy intentional competition for a financial benefit I will never be apart of.

International competition is based entirely on financial benefit. Corporations take advantage of patriotism and exploit it.

It´s only in America you have a "closed" professional league, an entertainment yippo where nobody is getting in based on sport results, only through money. In Europe, in soccer and even hockey and basically all sports, it´s still (in theory) possible for an amateur team in the 7th league to within 7 years climb up to the elite league based on results only, with no money only through talent. That´s the beauty of real sports. You Americans seem to have forgot this since some of you mix up an international tournament with an All Star event. I think every European or non-American would be really sad reading some of these posts.

How many leagues in Europe include two different countries, cities that can be 3,000 miles apart, and 4 different time zones? If the NHL was in say just the province of Ontario, then maybe it could be a relegation league where every player plays for their home town team. There are minor league franchises in different cities attached to NHL franchises in different cities. There's a draft. There's just a whole multiple decade infrastructure that's different than the reality of countries in Europe. The leagues fit the contexts of the countries they exist in.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with people making money. I bought the entire package for the 2004 World Cup, row 4, spent more money than I had. Credit and forget it you know?

I don't care who gets my money, the NHL, the IIHF, the IOC. You put the product on the ice that I want to see and here you go. Cash money goodbye.

But when someone wants to destroy something I care a lot about, and the benefit is they make a lot of money........ :help:

I get no benefit from that. I get no money, I get no hockey. Now if you offered me a cut of the Super All Star World Cup Challenge, then I'll whole heartily back it!
