Team license plates - who has the best design?

Some have WJ instead of J

One of the first things I did when I moved back home to Winnipeg was to get these plates on my SUV.

These also have the bonus of letting you not have the awful NYS yellow plate.

I still don't understand why they got rid of the old white and blue ones that had the Adirondacks on one side and the NYC skyline on the other. Those were nice plates. And they dropped that for Jersey yellow? Lame.

How obnoxious. No one cares about what team you support on your car lol

Is that why Kings fans used to honk and wave and point to their flag or sticker or license plate frame or their personalized plate on their car when I had LA 4 CUP?

I thought they were excited to see a fellow Kings fan but now I know they were trying to tell me that they didn't care and I was being obnoxious. Thanks for straightening that out.

Hopefully you managed to get over it.

As a European, this is one of the most American things I've ever seen. Like, why ruin the whole backside of your car with colourful licence plates and bumper stickers. I like the idea of each state having its own design though. It's just that the designs are mostly too over the top. Anyway, I think the Jets one is the best of the bunch.

Michigans Red Wings plates are nice and simple. A normal plate in Michigan can fit 7 letters/numbers, if you choose certain vanity plates like the sports teams plates you become limited to 6 instead of 7 characters.

Funny detail - in Ohio, if you're convicted of DUI, you may have to use a special license plate like this to be allowed to drive again:

So, naturally, every time I see a New York plate here I automatically wonder if that means every New York driver is a drunkard. ;)
Nope. They just drive like it...kidding! Fuhgedaboudit.

Ovi’s a humble guy eh? Best goal scorer of all time whippin the Kia Rio

Haha funny enough he doesn't actually have a capitals plate. Though I'm sure it's not uncommon for most players to avoid team plates. At least in the NHL you get to pick whatever car brand you want. I remember Bendtner got fined for being seen driving the wrong car.

The division of credit can be summed up as follows:
Ohio provided the people behind it, some of the facilities, and was where all the initial experimentation took place.
North Carolina provided a beach with a stiff breeze where the first working public test happened.

To make it even more concise:
NC is where documented flight actually happened, and Ohio doesn't like that.

Yeah, it's weird seeing all sorts of different colours and stuff, isn't it?

Must be a North American thing.
