That's true but I don't care about the global game. The WJR's has 4 RR games - 2 are usually good, 2 are garbage. At the WC, double that. For me, it's just too much.

But that tweet was about Tavares. Someone from the staff said that they're waiting for a big player but they can't name him because of he's on the road (at that time). 20 minutes after that or so Dreger posted that tweet with Tavares.
Yes, the tweet definitely was about Tavares. When you are in Zürich, it means precisely that you are on the road from Canada to Prague.
Wow, John Tavares is a huge add for Canada in my opinion. Where does he slot into the lineup?
Definitely on the top 2 lines. He can play either a C or a winger, so hard to predict exactly. I would expect him on the wing of the 2nd line, but really tricky to predict.
Nice add. One last spot available, i doubt canada adds another forward (if canada even plans to use that spot).

Didn't see Tavares coming at all, this years playoff debacle really must have left a sour taste in his mouth.

I love J.T., would have preferred a mid-20s upcoming player like Suzuki showing up at least once. But he's being a Doughty.

JT was supposed to come in 2019 before bowing out to injury so good to see him make way here. Instantly bolsters the center depth at this level.

Respect for Tavares going over, it's been a while but he was always good internationally. Hope he can end things on a much better note. I assume he will be the captain. I'd also think that at this point he's going to be on the wing but Canada has roughly 37 left wingers on this team so who knows.

That was totally unexpected and welcomed. I doubt there is anyone else, Canada usually doesn't pack the entire roster full, but we'll see. Another top name Dman would be a massive add. On paper this is the best team we've brought over in a long time.
