I would be very pleased with York at 20 if it played out like this but I'm starting to have a man crush on Raphael Lavoie. I think I'd swing for the fences with him here. I'd be surprised if he's available at 20 on draft night tbh

York or Dorofeyev ... voted Dorofeyev, because IMO we need more wings.

I really hope the draft doesn’t break like this. Caufield to the Flyers and Seider going at #19 is an awful scenario. If the Rangers ended up with Hughes I think I’d want one of the kids from the Q in this spot but you probably have to go York here. Just need an F and an L to go with him.

Worth it if only to have a FLY line in an era where I don't have the urge to stick pins in my eyes after watching a Ranger game!

I went with York but there are a bunch of other guys I like off this list too and wouldn't argue with--Dorofeyev, Lavoie, Harley, Tomasino, Brink and maybe even Robertson. I'm intrigued by others not listed yet--Mastrosimone, Beecher, Fagemo, Kolyachonok and Korczak for instance. If we could get one of those guys along with Kakko and someone like Fox that would be a great draft IMO.

Anyway if we took York (or even Harley or Robertson) our D sooner or later is going to be really good. Skjei, DeAngelo, Fox, Rykov, Hajek, Lindgren, Pionk, Miller, Lundkvist, Reunanen, Keane--maybe even Gross, Ragnarsson, Sjalin, Bigras. Not all these guys are going to make it and some are going to be moved but there's a lot of quantity and quality there. The one thing I don't see is a clear cut legit No. 1 D--perhaps Miller, Fox or York could be that guy.

I voted for Harley over York, Dorofeyev, and Brink. I have concerns about how much York benefited from playing on the stacked USNDP team. Dorofeyev is old, not the best skater, and other guys who have put up the same MHL production as him went in the 3rd or later and haven't set the world on fire (I still like him, just explaining why I ranked him behind the others). Brink was hard for me to pass on. I think his creativity / skill are really good and you can make it as a top 6 NHL forward without being big or fast. Harley needs to improve in the defensive zone, but he's got a pretty unique combination of size, skating ability, and offensive sense and is one of the youngest players in the draft. I'll bet that he can figure out the defensive end over time.

I don't think York will be there at the actual draft, so I'd hope for Dorofreyev or Tomasino at this spot.

York is BPA. Can't pass.

I do think the Rangers need to go forward heavy, but its York with how this broke.

Bust out the Mike York Liberty jerseys

There’s no way the Oilers draft an American college player.
if the top 7 breaks that way, who are they taking though? 3 of the next 4 taken in this mock are going ncaa route and the other is a russian that wont come over for at least 2 years.

Arizona picked Hayton at 5 because they really liked what he did at the combine and what he said in his interview.

Mock drafts are overrated

You are assuming their board looks the same as yours.
no im not. i stated that if the top 7 breaks like it does, than who are they taking>? if you eliminate ncaa bound players and podkolzin, than they are severely limiting the pool of players to choose from. the swedish Dmen are usually projected in that range, although 8 would be the very upper range of where they have been projected.

Dorofeyev.

We have ADA and Fox, I see no reason to add another similar defenseman even if he is the best player available. It's not like Dorofeyev is such a reach over him.

Basically you made my point. Did the mocks have Hayton at 5? Thomas Hickey at 4? For that matter, Kravtsov at 9? What matters is their list, not the mocks. If they get into what they see as an untenable situation, they may choose to trade down 1-2 spots.

how did i make your point? all i did was ask who they could take, since you eliminated highly rated players who in this specific situation (hfb mock) would be available when edmonton picks. the oiler fan base at the very least disagree with you, in that they wouldnt take an NCAA bound player.

Would take York here despite my love for Poulin and Tomasino
