it was $4.8m, and he only had really one high-end season at that point. if he has another he'll be in the line for at least $5m in arbitration.
That's the AAV. A thing not explicitly admissable or inadmissable is, his contract was a bit backloaded, with the latter year and thusly subsequent QO for 22/23 being $5.3M.

Obviously he never got QOed to that.

But it's hard to argue that one Anthony deAngelo of New York Rangers wasn't a comparable player.

Salary Arbitration really is the price finding tool for on-ice performance only. I think we lost any option to refer to pre summer 2021 off-ice stuff when we knowingly chose to sign him.

He will/would take us to the cleaners in Arbitration.

Now that he got the money, do you think he will pull a full villain reveal and insist on being henceforth called Douglas J. Hamilton?

Imagine the responses you’d get if you stood in Times Square and asked random people their opinions on the legacy of Douglas J. Hamilton for today’s America.

"So you wouldn't find Mr. John Edward's criticism towards Mr. Hamilton on his respectfulness of Mr. John McKenzie's legacy fair?"

Thanks for posting the DeAngelo videos, Bleed.

Reminds me of my cousin and aunt. If I only knew them for their Facebook posts alone, I'd think they were raging terrorists who would burn down the country to own the libs. And yet when I get dinner with them, they are incredibly loving, loyal, and good people.

It's important to take the good with the bad. It's good to listen to all sides, and not be reactionary. I'm as left-leaning as they come, and I think TDA's opinions are a dumpster fire, and I don't want to excuse any past harmful behaviors of his. I remain hopeful that he will inspire his teammates and work hard for Brind'Amour. It's probably best that I listen to others I disagree with, and it's also important that people like TDA listen to others they disagree with.

I guarantee you at least a third of the people surveyed would say what an amazing figure in our history and how they revere all the founding fathers and its a damned shame that the socialists and liberals are takin over the country and a man like Douglas J Hamilton is just what we need right now to fix this great country. Well him and when they finally overturn the election for Trump.

That's kinda how I feel. I've got old friends (used to be) from high school that seemed like great people, now they're either raging Evangelicals or raging Woke. Then others who were jerks/bullies who are now pretty awesome people. Folks who like to shit-stir/troll on FB but aren't nearly that way in-person with people they know, and others who portray themselves as perfect angels but are lunatics behind the scenes (my ex qualifies here). Hell I work with people that are @$$holes on the job, but you could kick back with a beer after work and they're a totally different person. People are complex and imperfect, we could all probably be demonized for some toxic trait if it got out to the wrong crowd...hopefully though we can also point to personal growth...and hopefully TDA can work to dispel doubts and prove himself (or pretty much end his NHL career by confirming the narrative that he's scum)

It's why I stay away from being very active in most social media...if someone WANTS to be offended and demonize you, they WILL find a way to do so. I've experienced first hand someone telling half a story about me that made me look like a horrific person and galvinized them against me, leaving out key details that would explain it all.

So Tony D is that one… uncle or cousin that many Americans have? I mean that’s still not exactly comforting but like I’ve said before at least he’s not a rapist or murderer.
