I wouldn't mind taking a risk on Trouba but the value is more like Johnson or KoekKoek straight up.

Are you trying to imply that KoekKoek has as much value as a player with 150+ games as a top pairing Dman?

No wasn't implying any more than the original trade offer was a laughable over value of Trouba who had a real average season and shown to be an attitude concern which is risky. Would not be a top pairing guy for us more like 5 or maybe 4.

So the guy that performed as a top pairing defender at age 21 and 22 is considered 'average' now?

This deal is laughably awful for Tampa as pretty much every neutral fan will tell you.

If he was a top pair defender I would agree with you, Trouba is a 2nd pair defender, he's not Lindholm. Koekkoek could play on our 2nd pair right now if we wanted him to but we are working him in slowly. So there's no point in the trade because they both will be 2nd pair defenders at the end of the year only thing that will be different is the handiness of the two.

Yes, I think you you are getting it now, Trouba would be an average player on a contending team like Bolts. Average player getting top pairing chance and minutes because he is on a below average team.

Not sure what there's left to argue about. TB doesn't like the deal because the value is awful for us, the Jets don't like the deal because Johnson doesn't fill a team need and they downgrade on D.

Neither side is trying to convince anybody why the deal would be good.
