A 23 year old who looks good and is under contract for 2 more years after this one for 1.5M AAV. something does not add up if the move him. How bad is he in the locker room? I don't get it, there is something about him we don't know because from a hockey sense there is no reason to trade him. You should be trading your big dollar older guys for players like him if you are the Hawks
This is my thoughts as well. Why move a good young coat controlled young kid unless there is something we don’t know about ?

Toronto also needs a forward. Our 2nd and 4th line have been a bit of a mess this season. That said the solution to that could come internally.
But someone with Hagel’s cap hit would allow them to still have the cap space to address the defence. Goaltending would be much harder in season.
I was joking a bit and agree with what you say. That said, Toronto has horses up front and could weather moving one for a stud D man — let alone a goalie. They’ve overloaded on forwards for years — if I was ownership and I saw Dubas spending any time on figuring out his O, I’d be pissed. Fool me once, fool me 5 times…….

Should have done it years ago when battling with Nylander over contract. Yes, he’s a stud but that was the time to move his rights in a package for a stud D IMO.

I'm going to say Edmonton.
I hope not. While the kids numbers look good. When you break down who he has been playing with... this looks like a pump and dump.

Not saying he is not good but he has been playing some pretty good players this years.

Yes I know I will be attacked for this notion.

But I can see a team over paying due to his contract and out put

Comes down to Chicago believing they won't be competitive for 2 years and when Hagel's contract is up, he will need a $3M to $5M raise. Trade him now while the value is at his peak.

I get selling high on players, but it's still bizarre to me to see a rebuilding team trading a good 23 year old forward.

How can you say this without even seeing the return?

Comment makes no sense at all.

Everyone is tradeable for the right price.

HF in a nutshell:

Report: Hagel has been traded! Return not announced yet

HF: BUT WHY???

We don't even know the return yet jesus christ.

The usual suspects I'd imagine. Tampa, Florida, Vegas,

There isn't a bad answer though. Some people mentioned Edmonton, which I disagree with but we could definitely use a cap bargain starting next year. Maybe Kassian going the other way
