Taylor Hall's hat trick

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Who won the Larsson trade ?
Depends on who you ask.

Taylor Hall
4 seasons total, 211GP
2 of those seasons <35GP
Zero playoff series wins, 5 playoff games
1 Hart-Trophy season

Adam Larsson
5 seasons total, 329GP
2/3 dman most of that time
1 playoff series win, 19 playoff games

Probably pretty even but arguments could be made either way

Question was intended for nashnaidoo, and he gave me a clear answer swiftly.

But I appreciate the breakdown, and you have blew my expectations away.

He’s never had more than 30 goals in a season apart from his Hart year when he had 39 in 76 and he’s had bad luck with injuries. His overall career goalscoring pace is 25 goals per 82 games which doesn’t seem too low imo.
No, 25 goals / 82 games is a really good average.

Trouble is, it’s just that; an average. And Taylor rarely strings together 82 game seasons.

Edmonton won, they needed a D and got one. Hall didn't fit on the team.

Taylor Hall through a 6 year stretch was an absolute beast. Too bad all the trades and injuries really derailed his career. Hope he wins a cup b4 he calls it quits.

Leave him alone man and let him enjoy his hat trick, probably the last one he'll ever get.

Guy's gonna probably end his career with like 800 something points over 1000 something games and people act like he's the biggest bust of all time.

Funny, but I don't think people are hard enough on the guy. His performance with Buffalo was inexcusable. He signed there for a year at big money, and just barely had a pulse while waiting to be traded.

Hall has been a nobody ever since. This hat trick is just some dead-cat-bounce before he's out of the league.

FWIW: you should go back and watch his performance while playing for the Canes.

In several games, he has been the best player on the ice and has consistently played well. If this is a dead-cat bounce, give me 19 more like him for roster improvement.

Good for Hall. At this point, he's an easy guy to root for. Peaked in 2018 it seems but after that, so much up and down.

Hey, I'm glad it seems to be working out. I quite like Carolina, and would be glad if they go deep in the playoffs. But I also follow Chicago, and somehow managed to get my hopes up when Hall arrived there, thinking that maybe he had something left to give.

He didn't. No spark on the ice, no chemistry with Bedard, no look of a vet passing on experience to the next wave, no effort or energy, no nothing. He got my hopes up for the last time. He's nothing but a lazy player riding on the coattails of his one great year.
