I think this means Matthews gets the same AAV - $11M. If Marner has a monster year which is definitely possible he'll want $10M and accept $9M so he can remain a Leaf. Nylander's out of luck.

Getting Tavares also makes it much easier to insert young wingers like Johnsson and Kapanen up in the lineup because there going to be playing with a really good center.

This takes off alot of pressure off the young players we would have been expecting to contribute next season.

Johnsson - Tavares - Marner would be a really exciting line to try out. Give him two really speedy wingers with great playmaking abilities.

I am not ashamed to admit i shed tears when they announced it. For all the crap we take as leaf fans, all the insults, the doubters saying we would never get someone like jt unless we drafted him.
