Kind of surprised the list is that short. There’s a few guys who I would have figured had done it but were in the 150+ range with a second team. Still doesn’t feel like Tavares has been in TO 7 years now. The last 5 years have blown by.

I thought for sure Ron Francis would have done it with Hartford and Pittsburgh, but nope. I wonder who else just missed the mark

I was 50/50 on Tavares making the HHoF, but this season likely clinches it for him.
He probably will get in, but only because the standards have dropped so much. No NHL hardware, a bit of international success, Toronto Maple Leaf. It's Mats Sundin all over again!

Brady Tkachuk could also join this list

Needs 22Gs in 48 games this year to hit 200 with Sens

If he gets moved in the summer he would need 200 over next 7-8 years with his new team if he stays there and is healthy should be done

Matt Tkachuk misses with 152Gs as a Flame and should have 200+ as a panther by time his current deal ends

kaprizov if he walks from the wild is another option as hell have 200Gs likely by end of this year and should get 200+ with a potentially new team if he walks/is traded

Recchi and Lafontaine came somewhat close and Esposito came real close.
I'm sure there's more, but I only checked a few fromthe top of my head.

Follow up question:
I did find a couple of players that did score 100+ goals with 3 or more franchises, is there someone that made it to 100+ goals with 4 franchises?

The first person I thought who could end up being on the list was Matthew Tkachuk but I looked it up and he was short of 200 in Calgary

Zach Parise was close too - 199 goals with Minnesota, 194 goals with New Jersey.

I'm pretty sure nobody has ever done this. Even 100+ goals with three franchises is rare. I could only find:
  • Ciccarelli (332 Minnesota, 112 Washington, 107 Detroit)
  • Recchi (232 Philadelphia, 154 Pittsburgh, 120 Montreal)
  • Hossa (188 Ottawa, 186 Chicago, 108 Atlanta)
  • Turgeon (147 NY Islanders, 134 St. Louis, 122 Buffalo)
  • Kovalev (151 Pittsburgh, 142 NY Rangers, 103 Montreal)
  • Thomas (118 Toronto, 118 NY Islanders, 110 Chicago)
  • Larouche (123 NY Rangers, 119 Pittsburgh, 110 Montreal)

Because Tavares at 5M or less is such a big problem right

He will be 35 before the puck drops for the next season. Signing a 35-year old centre to a five year deal is a dumb idea, period.

If you think locking up a 35-year old for five years is a good idea for the Maple Leafs, we can agree to disagree.

Frank Mahovlich (296 with Toronto, 108 with Detroit, 129 with Montreal; plus 89 with Toronto/Birmingham in the WHA).
Joe Mullen (151 with St. Louis, 190 with Calgary, 153 with Pittsburgh).
Arnott (100 with Edmonton, 110 with New Jersey, 107 with Nashville).

Shanahan came close (156 with St. Louis, 309 with Detroit, 94 goals with New Jersey), as did Damphousse (118 with Toronto, 178 with Montreal, 92 with San Jose).
